Recording of a bosch refrigerator. Recorded and processed at 24bit 96khz using the tascam dr-40 linear pcm recorder. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else.

Field recording on top of a swiss alp where the ski lift ends. Repetitive mechanical sound from the lift, a plain, a bird, ski and snowboard sounds, some voices.

Sound of rw's mechanical heart?. Made with mixpad and wavepad. Took a few heartbeat sounds, overplayed with "warp core", ratchet, a car turning off, pump action shotgun and warning sounds. Plus a few others i cannot remember. Played with speed and pitch.

Typing on a mechanical keyboard (leopold fc660m, mx browns, enjoypbt and gmk caps). This one is the more bassy of the two recorded using my keyboard. Recorded with a zoom hd1 placed slightly above the left side of the keyboard.

This was recorded in a woodshop with a loud dust collector going on, so it's not the cleanest recording. But if you need a noisy, nasty sounding mechanical thing then this'll do it.

Dark growling drone sound i made on a my behringer model d analog synthesizer, recorded with effects in ableton live. Some processing was done later in adobe audition to finalize it.

A high quality shrill screech produced from large metal panels scratching against an old atx panel using it's edges. I imagine derelict buildings with steel slide doors being open slowly or a blade dragged on the ground.

My old mechanical alarm clock ticking away the time until the alarm goes off, a the end you can hear it slowing down a bit, as the tension unwinds.

Gas meter. A gas meter in a corridor next to a boiler room (family house). Mechanical soundperiodic clacking soundquiet noise of running gas boiler in background. Recorded from approx. 4cm. Recorded with:sony pcm d50built-in mics (collinear position).

Loop-able. Constant buzz from a slightly broken water pump on a small water feature. Recorded from multiple areas of the fountain. Running water can be heard in the background. Recorded on a zoom h4n recorder.

Imitation of a roller coaster lift chain ratcheting sound. Sound produced using a pipe wrench and moving the upper part of the jaws back and forth. Slows down at the end. Used in an educational animated video.

Noises from a factory recorded from outside. The factory shapes metal parts with a punching press. You hear the punches as well as machine noises and metal parts being moved. Recorded with a samsung siii phone, multiband compressed and equalized afterwards.

Took a ride on a historic steam engine in the lake district (england). This was recorded from inside the carriage while in transit. Some background talking but a lot of good mechanical clunking type sounds. .

A passing grocery cart corralling machine used in parking lots to assist with returning buggies to the store. The presumably electric motor and slight jiggle of the metal carts can be heard. Sound is loopable.

Two small mechanical sirens recorded with a h2 recorder in a factory building. One siren is very close, the other in a remote place. You can also hear the sound of a door and ambient noise.

This is a recording of the drive motor of a super 8 (canon 418 auto zoom). This was recorded with the hatch to the cartridge open, so the noise is clearer. There is also the effect noise of the trigger being closed.

Miked at 3-10" distance. Stove overhead fan recorded powering down, followed by subsequent power-up/power-down [mic was moved closer/further from fan, according to fan speed, in order to minimize air movement against diaphragm]. H4 zoom recorder.

The buzzer sound from a carwash as one cycle ends and another begins, prompting the driver to move the vehicle forward. Basically the standard buzzer you hear in moves or factory settings when something has gone wrong or a sensor has been violated.

A recording i made when my wife was updating her cash balance printed recordings at a national bank. This is the only one that still uses printed stuff in a world of apps and e-banking. The sound contains useful mechanical noises and a vintage printer.

I made it using modbox. It possibly could be good for a video theme or something like that. Though it sounds a lot like my other ones. :).
