Foghorns of two ships meeting in the st. Lawrence rivier at sillery (quebec city, quebec) on a foggy night. Recorded on a third-floor balcony overlooking a cemetery (hence, the crickets) on a cold september night at 1 am. 19-minute mono recording using a sennheiser 416 shotgun mic, sound devices 302 mixer and sd 744t recorder. 24-bit, 48khz.

This is a short, but detailed audio recording from my police scanner. It is the "ending" of a dea surveillance being held in my local community. You will hear the dea agents (ground units) following the target suspect as he leaves home, then eventually at the end, you will hear the local pd meeting up with them to stop and capture the suspect. Because of the short-range distant of the dea's radio transmissions, some audio will be "scratchy", yet it is audible. Enjoy!.

During the covid-19 lockdown, i spent some time walking where the city meets a mountain and discovered an area with loud but subtle electric infrastructure wires. These, along with cars, birds, and rustling leaves, are recorded with binaural microphones and cropped down to one minute.

This is a great recording from my digital police scanner of the atf and u. S. Marshal's doing a short, but detailed road surveillance here in houston. The atf starts out talking about a place to meet, then they follow the target suspects vehicle. Once they lose sight of the vehicle, they decide to let the marshal's signal device, planted on the vehicle, track it the rest of the way. This is a fine example of the new p25 digital (some encryption used) radio system that many federal and local law enforcement departments are starting to use. Enjoy!.

Forward with NOAA the NOAA Corps Song The "NOAA Corps Song" is actually entitled "Forward with NOAA." In 1987-88 the National Association of Commissioned Officers (ACO) was interested in commissioning a NOAA Song. Captain (then Commander) Steve Manzo was a member of the ACO Executive Board and volunteered to assist. Manzo contacted a long-time friend, Bob Arberg. Bob's father, Bud Arberg, had actually written the music and words to the "Army Song" -- while assigned to the Adjutant General's Staff during World War II. Dr. Arberg (former Princeton graduate in music) was retired and he readily volunteered to write a song. Dr. Arberg was provided reference materials on the NOAA Corps. He recognized at the outset that this was an attempt to build NOAA Corps morale and he cautioned that buy-in/acceptance within the Corps would not be easy. The song was first presented at a National ACO Dining-In in either 1988 or 89. Secretary of Commerce William Verity was present, as were both Bud and Bob Arberg. Bud Arberg played the piano and performed the "NOAA Song" to the assembled group of 150 officers and guests. Upon completing the NOAA Song, Secretary Verity graciously presented Dr. Arberg with a small gift of thanks on behalf of DOC/NOAA/NOAA Corps. The music was arranged by the USAF Band. This is my first recording using my binaural mic. I took a walk to meet my wife for lunch and decided to record it. It was windy outside, and even with the standard foam wind protection, you can still hear some wind rumble. It might be fixed using some low cut filtering but i wanted to post it as is. This take started inside my recording studio and ended in a fairly large avenue with lots of traffic (cars and motorcycles). There is a pause on the recording by 01:59, when i had to change the mic cable position. Signal chain: roland cs-10em (with foam windscreen) > sony pcm-m10 (rec level: manual, at about 3,5; mic sensitivity: low; limiter: off; low cut filter: disabled).

They arent wealthy so on their days off can't afford to go restaurants an cinemas and any way they are all here to earn money to send back to their families and children, since they cant afford much they tend to gather in groups in to dance and sing, or sit and eat play cards. I just so happened past a 'street' party in victoria park and took a recording as it sounded very exotic and all the people seemed happy in way i couldnt describe - altho i feel this recording is actually a little sad?. .

Made this drums on a vintage-sounding drum-machine and added some sampled drums for a more vital sounding beat. Wanted a cocky big bass-line and some spooky music box stuff, sci-fi synth and more.
