These sci-fi synth sweeps were created by manipulating white noise with filter sweeps and other effects and then using noise reduction to remove the underlying white noise. You would need to pick through them and cut them up, but they can be useful for sound designing light graphic elements that move around and animate on and off.

Soon after, raindrops begin to fall as if on cue. Theres a little handling noise click in the begining that is easy to crop out if you like. The recording is unedited. At 1:35 i move the mics closer to the deck so you can hear the splashing. At about at 3:10 i you’ll hear a different timbre as i move away from the rain and under an awning. About 3:45 the rain settles down and the birds start chirping again. Hopefully there are some useful segments in here. There are many ways to "listen" to a computer. The high frequencies are miles from what a human can hear, so you must divide and mix until you hear the computer "speaking". This one: simply placed the am mf coil close to a data cable to a pci slot. The sharp noise is not noise, but clock signals which are divided x times the rattling is caused by every move with the mouse.

Created for a trailer for a film. I used a grandfather clock for the main ticking of the hands but layered and added other sounds such as a heartbeat, hall kick drum with reverb and synthesis techniques. Please note: the ticking by note be in sync if you use and a countdown image i had to move the ticks to accommodate the wall clock i was working with due to the ticks where not always in time.

Interesting (but painful) sounds made with a zoom h2 (front mics, low gain) connected to a laptop via usb. The signal was piped to old creative sbs250 spekers with 16ms of latency (i'm using jack audio connection kit and linux). That's how my feedback loop came into existance. I turned up the volume and started to move the mics around, geting a lot of different sounds ranginf from simple tones to strange lfoish sounds. The sound touches 0db one times, but is rather undistorted (at least digitally). Recorded with audacity @ 48khz/16-bit and saved as flac.
