This began as a short sample of brown noise created on audacity. I boosted the bass and stretched it out a little with paul's extreme sound stretcher. All very easy but i quite like the result.
Just a 200hz snare body with a clap, synthesized white noise with a phaser, and a particular stab sound, all compressed together, very light saturation on this.
Playing with the switches on my nagra reel-to-reel - sort of a ryoji ikeda kind of thing popped out - i love surface noise, tape compression. . The whole media in fact!.
Building-site noise recorded from a window in front of it, using my smartphone's voice notes app. There's some hammer sounds, and a continuous drilling or sawing sound (not clear).
Running a corkscrew several times rapidly along the edge of a wooden desk. Recorded with minidisc and condenser mic, indoors, 6" distance. Background noise removed with audacity. Short, rattly hard noises.
Basically i connected one lfo to the polivoks in. Now when i think of it. Wonder if that added something…. And how much. And to cv1 i connected a square wave and to cv2 a wide frequency sine wave. Resonance at max. Think i have to reanalyse this patch later… i’ll be back!.
Cassette tape noise recorded by playing empty cassette. Route thru a summit audio 2ba-221. No processing. Played on a tandberg tcd 310. 2hp osc is fm modulating bermuda (using fm in). Pitch cv to osc is controlled by sloth and attenuverter. The bermuda tri output singnal is shaped by doepfer vactrol vcf. The vcf is modulated by sloth (cv in 1) and jerkoff (cv in 2). The noise it from dan, going to polivioks vcf. Polivoks is modulated by sloth. Output from vcf is going to vca controlled by another sloth.
Two-pole circuit breaker recorded held in my hand, also pressed against a wooden board for more resonance. And some rattling mechanical handling noises at the end. Useful as electrical switch click. 96 khz, 32-bit float. Tlm-103 mic straight into pro tools. The only processing is a mild gate. At least it has a good noise floor.
