This is the announcement made inside a sanisette (a self-cleaning, high-tech street toilet found throughout paris) when the door opens after pressing the button to go in. The mechanical noises are unavoidable because the announcement is triggered by the opening of the door. Recorded with zoom h4n built-in mics / 94 khz / 24-bit stereo.

Does this sound need a description?. Noticed that my door was quite loud - so i recorded some sounds of it with my phone close to the moving parts of the door.

(update-june 15th, 2022. The truck is still running strong). :-) this is my ford ranger with a 170 v-6. I enter, shut the door, put in key, click seat belt, put tranny in neutral, pump gas, start and warm it up a bit. Please comment on what you may use it for. Thanks. :^).

It's pretty swell.

Captured on my zoom h4n. I open the door and the wind noise get louder. Around :50 it really starts to gust. There is a dog bark in the distance around 1:12. There is a little mic rumble throughout. I had it covered with a windshield and was standing just inside the door frame to try to prevent additional rumble. No need to credit. Use it as you would like.

The recorded noise has been filtered quite a lot, but there might still be too much left if you bring the sound to high levels. However it should work in quiet surroundings. Opening a sliding door to a lot of chatty morning birds. You can hear a some fire truck sirens far in the background. After a few minutes, door is closed, i let you hear the difference, and we’re done. Recorded with a tascam dr-05 at about 5 am. Converted to mp3 with command “lame --preset extreme” since it’s rather huge. Not normalized; lame reports a playback gain of +21 db.

Opening the back doors: first the storm door and then the main door. Main door closes followed by the storm door. Back door has a slight squeak. The glass-screen door is moderated by a hydraulic door closer which you can breifly hear hiss before the door slams shut. Recorded on a windows x8 phone and cleaned up in audacity. This is an old recording that was never used for anything. It's basically an 8 bit audio file of me saying "allow me to open the door" in a sort of high pitched voice. Apparently this was used for a half-life mod, but, again, was never used.
