A drain after a water flow: the water seems to build up a physical-mechanic surface tension kept mass in the tube, opens and closes this bubble-entity producing a specific rhythm in the plughole resp. The drainage pipe. It pulses with various plops and splashs, starts off with a firework kind of beat but then one hears a differentiated rhythm of 4-strokes sequences with slugs before these etc. Getting slower. Many minutes later it ends (beyond this track). The (hearable) cut is just the censorship of a small abortive piece -- left in to document the recording as recording.

I installed in december 2011 my sound data for bfd-eco, an acoustic drum vst that really rocks. By that time i had my akai mpc 1000 connected to my computer to do some sampling. While i didn't do any sampling while the installation progressed i did hear that the external hard drive that i was installing onto sent out disturbing binary pulses that my mpc picked up. I quickly started the sampler, and recorded as much as i could of the noises. This is the result.

There are many ways to "listen" to a computer. The high frequencies are miles from what a human can hear, so you must divide and mix until you hear the computer "speaking". This one: simply placed the am mf coil close to a data cable to a pci slot. The sharp noise is not noise, but clock signals which are divided x times the rattling is caused by every move with the mouse.

This is a sound i made in audacity by recording myself going "vvvvvvvvvvvvvv. . . " on two separate tracks and slowing them both down by 95% and adding a little bit of reverb. I think it's sort of convincing but i think it would be better if the pulse of the samples being copied a bunch of times kind of gives it away. Feel free to do what you like with it.

This is only a recording of me playing a djembe, recorded with a pair of nt1-a mics, but after messing around with some of logic's amp and resonator effects i ended up with this. The 6/8 groove reminded me of the doctor-who theme, and the interval displacement of a minor 6th i thought sounded pretty cool. You don't have to credit me, but if you use my sound i'd love to hear what you come up with!.

In my quest for that perfect sound that i'm looking for, i ended with something that doesn't quite fit the bill. Never the less, i think it has potential in the right hands. One thing i would like to point out is a single glitch at about 1. 907. I spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out. It may be a non-issue to someone that hasn't obsessed over it before, during, and after dinner. Use it and abuse it if it fits your needs. Key: a♭ minoralt key: 1abpm 107 (i had a clip running at 160 just fine).

This is a 5 second rendering of the famous 1000hz censoring tone used on tv, movies and broadcasts. It can be cut, looped and used to censor audio that may be sensitive in nature or otherwise not fit for broadcasting. Made the tone using an analog tone/pulse generator fed into a focusrite scarlet 2i4. The sound is very clean (no noise). As this "tone" is fairly easy to reproduce and there is no copyright on it, i'm not going to ask for attribution or anything. Just use it as you see fit whether it'd be commercial or private. I drove my car into a wall; and recorded the proximity alert from it. I then washed it through audacity; slowed it 23%; and trimmed the edges. The result? -chilling. A few indistinct gulps cool the atmosphere a little more. It's not the making of a corpse - but it sounds a bit like it?. Recorded late at night in my car by my home with the engine off in fog - so the sound is 'hollowed' by the atmosphere. Recorded using a sennheiser mke300 'shotgun' mic. Cropped in audacity; and saved as aif file. What a chilling way to go. . . ?.

The beautiful sounds of office life. This is audible interference from a cheap ballast in a florescent light fixture--or several in close proximity. (it's probably violating fcc regulations with rf output too. ) this was recorded with an iphone builtin mic, then processed to isolate the sound. It's a beeping / humming at around 3,800 hz. Each beep lasts about 1 second, followed by a half-second of silence before the next beep. Toward the end of this recording, it shifts slightly upward in pitch, to around 4,000 hz. Some typing on a keyboard can be heard in the foreground. (it's an office, after all. ).

This is a plasma pulse engine for spaceships, hover bikes/ boards, etc. The engine starts up at 00. 000 ms. Then stage one starts at 02. 400 ms. Stage two at 04. 800 ms. Stage three at 07. 200 ms. Stage four 09. 600 ms. Then the engine shuts down starting at 12. 000 ms. To change "gears" set position to the stage start then play. To "run" in each stage loop from start time +. 144 to stage end time(next stage start time) -. 083. You may have to figit the numbers. I haven't actually tested any of this. I don't really program any more. But, in theory it should work.

A heartbeat sound i created. Fairly consistent through most of it, and then speeds up into heart-attack mode about 30 seconds from the end. To make it, i took a kick-drum sample and a snare-drum sample, and made a pattern of kick-snare, kick-snare, kick-snare, over and over. I then eq'd them to be less distinct and drum-like, added tape saturation to increase the low-end thumping, a small chorus effect and some compression to get rid of the drums' attack. . . Basically just over-processed the hell out of it. Then i used a plugin called wok m-st to get a fake hard-panned stereo effect. My goal was to make it sound like your heartbeat sounds in your ears when you've been running too fast for too long. I think it sounds cool.

Hey!. I've made this for a friend's project. But the project is now stalled, so i decided to release my work to the world. The sound is created with multiple layers of zynaddsubfx digital synthesizer. Sequenced and rendered using lmms. This was my first serious attempt at creating high-quality game sounds. I've spend quite some time refining and adding detail to the sounds, so they are rich and convincing. I hope this is a production at top level, that could be used in a commercial motion picture. Electro-magnetic interference from a desktop computer, and an at&t; cordless phone handset cl82301 when held near the internal ferrite antenna on the back right of a 13-year-old boombox listening to the am broadcast band. Recorded 2 years ago so i forget where i was listening. Recorded with goldwave from line-in. You hear emi from the computer at first, then i bring the phone on standby near the radio and you hear a series of nearly pure tones. The phone comes on and you hear a distorted dial tone. I move the phone away from the radio for a few seconds and you hear the computer again, then i bring the phone near and you hear a distorted busy signal. I disconnect and the phone continues sending to the base for a few seconds so you just hear a hum, then the idle tones are heard, then the computer noise as i remove the phone.

As with my other sounds, i prefer quality over quantity. Here is another sound file that i developed over a couple of days. Similar to ss's pulse cannons, this one features a military battle featuring tanks, helicopters, jets, and strafing runs using high caliber chainguns. A lot of explosions and rocket fire is heard as well, and the audio is a bit loud. Sounds edited in audacity, some sounds recorded irl using my dslr camera system, the mixing was done using filmora9. The freesound files used is listed in the sound sources, rest is what i used online and irl. I did this out of boredom while playing shooter games, since i'm working with 3d modeling i'm getting back into making my own sounds for my games. Jackhammer in a series of pulses from a reasonable distance, so the recording is clear and with decent but not overpowering volume. Summer songbirds in the background fill between the pulses and after the jackhammering stops.

A heartbeat sound i made, complete with some gurgling, blood-rushing sounds. Just uploaded a version without the gurgling, in case you prefer the way that sounds. To make this, i took a kick-drum sample and a snare-drum sample, and made a loop of kick-snare, kick-snare, kick-snare, over and over. After that, i eq'd out the more drum-like parts of each sample, added reverb to dull it, a chorus plugin and some compression to remove some of the drums' attack. . . Basically processed the hell out of them. To get the blood gurgling sound, i filled a water-bottle almost all the way full and turned it sideways, so i had a massive air-bubble floating around. I then tilted the bottle back and forth in front of my blue yeti usb condenser mic, so you could hear the air-bubble swishing. I had to be pretty gentle, because if you rock the horizontal bottle too much, the bubble moves too fast and makes a fake-sounding "gloomp. ". When i was happy with it, i mixed the heartbeat sound and the gurgling sounds so they'd work well together. Both the sounds were in mono, so i used a free plugin called wok ms-t on both of them to create a fake hard-panned stereo effect. I wanted it to sound like you'd been running, and were hearing the heartbeat in your ears. I think it turned out pretty cool. .

Electro-magnetic interference from the colorino talking color identifier and light probe when held near the internal ferrite antenna on the back right of a 13-year-old boombox near the bottom of the am broadcast band, from 530 to 580 khz. You first hear the device inactive being brought near the radio. This gives a low buzz of stacato clicks. At about 00:23 the light probe button is briefly pushed, you hear a quick boop of the light probe with low light level combined with the beginning of the white noise of the device active. If you put your ear near it after you use it, you will hear a slight hiss from the audio amplifier carrier idling for about a minute after last use. On the am radio this translates to white noise. At 00:26 there is a double click and a distorted voice says black. The voice is being picked up by the am radio. 10 seconds of white noise and i press the color button again and it says black. I put something else over the color sensor and it says a few more things. At 00:51 i hold down the light probe button and try to point it at the light above my desk while still holding it close enough to the radio to pick up the emi signal. You hear a warbling tone at 00:59 as the light reaching the sensor increases and decreases in brightness depending on how it's pointed. The signal fades in and out as the device is moved around. This has all happened at 530 khz. At 01:37 i step the radio up to 580 khz where you get a stronger signal. Wibw from topeka competes with the noise throughout the rest of the file. At 01:51 you hear the distorted error beep as i press the color button without anything but air and light in front of the color sensor. It must be pressed up against the thing you want the color of, or it gets in too much ambient light and errors out with a loud protesting beep.

A morphagene reel culled from an improvisation i made on a eurorack modular synth. Qu-bit electronix scanned is the sole voice here. Splices in the reel are ordered from somewhat delicate (taps, pulses, etc. ) to pretty chaotic noise. All recorded into a zoom h6.

These are fake siren noises i made in logic by using es p. The warnings are in the following order: caution (three pulses), alert (steady), attack (wailing), large fire (hi-lo), evacuate (hi-lo/alternate wail). These don't conform to any signal guidelines and must not be used for anything other than a mere sound effect.

Just some recording of a dried, brittle chili pepper with little seeds inside - up way way close to the mic (a zoom h2n). Some suggested sound design use cases: run this through granular fx for a nice drone texture. Use as an impulse response for a convolution reverb (then run tones through the convolution). Use as a trigger in vcv rack, allowing it's peaks to fire off samples or synth pulses. Or just use it plain within your next experimental acousmatic piece hit single.

What i hear in this sound is a crashing starship as you regain consciousness surrounded by chaos of the crew and emergency systems. At 00:52 there's a really cool explosion hit that fits the starship in danger vibe. Created from roughly 230 sounds in reaper by looping, batch actions and modulated filtering.
