4ch surround recording of a bike riding through city traffic (leipzig/germany) on an evening in late spring. Recorded with a zoom h2 with a rycote windshield in a shock mount fastened to the center frame above the pedals. All recordings in the set are raw from the recorder and will usually need a hi-pass filter to deal with the rumble. Steady riding and freewheeling along a minor street, with some cars and a scooter passing, some gear switching and stopping at a red light with cars passing on the intersecting street at the end. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

Recorded at kingston foreshore at lake burley griffen in canberra on a windy day - people walking and riding past, peak hour traffic going over the bridge, some birds noises and a black swan approaches at the end to get some food.

This is audio of just about the entire ride of the powell-hyde cable car line in san francisco, recorded on 08/26/2015. Late evening trip through the city. I recorded this while i was on the steps on the right side of the car, holding the recorder in one hand and my life in the other! tourists talking, the operator ringing the bells and using the brake levers, etc. Recorded with a tascam dr-70d, built in mics. The night is quite silent, only some discreet water drops. The road is wet. Same mic position (10m high in a metelilic structure 10m from the road), same record level. Location: tijuana, mexicotime: december, 2016. Riding a route taxi through the streets of tijuana. It's the evening on a weekday and people are coming off work. An ambulance cruises by. Passengers are silent most of the ride until minute 4:40 when the driver stops on a busy boarding zone. Coins jingle when people pay the driver. The door slides open and you can hear people on the street chatting, while passengers get off and new ones come in.

This sound was made by me, i tied down my canon powershot a460 digital camera inside the engine bay of my 1993 rover 620si, and it's got a petrol honda engine, no turbo on this version. I had my video recording on my camera in the engine bay while i was driving. I started the engine up and took it for a drive. I simply took the sound off the video. I videoed this sound of a subway train in glasgow scotland on the famous "clockwork orange" train as they are called. I used my canon powershot a460 digital camera to video this, i simply took the sound from the video. I was lucky enough to get a good run on this with just a few poeple on board, so there wasn't any other sound apart from the train, the only time you here some movement of feet is when the doors open. Riding new flyer c40lf bus in brooklyn, ny. Here we hear the engine sound during acceleration braking, as well as pneumatics and doors of a bus - riding through crowded streets of brooklyn, ny. You can also hear passengers' voices, street noises, cars' horns, etc. The bus is powered by natural gas. The sound was recorded in a rear section of a bus.

It's a recording of a bicycle trip. A rather quick one. Gaining speed, bicycle wheels, chains, pedals, my breathing and cars passigng by are all audible. Some woman says "dzień dobry" in the background. The wind blows int the mics a bit. Recorded with a zoom h2, originally 96khz/24-bit wav, edited and normalized with audacity. I made this while hunting some thunder strikes (my bike'n'thunder series).

This is a long ride on one of san francisco's trolley cars, recorded on 08/25/2015. Evening, past rush-hour, so the trolley is pretty empty. There's some muffled talking on the driver's radio. This is a recording of a slow freight train passing from about 50 feet away using the internal mics of a tascam dr-40. The recording was made in southern mississippi, usa. The train was going down a gentle slop, around a bend. The engines can be heard approaching and passing, followed by the various sounds made by the wheels as the individual cars pass. The file was edited using adobe audition 6. The processing used was a high pass filter around 30 hz and a multi-band compressor. A couple of times during the recording clipping of the pre-amps can be heard because i was manually riding the input gain.
