This sound is of a loop of chains being manipulated, along with footsteps. It is meant to invoke a sense of imprisonment or creepiness, but you may use it as you please. It was taken using a zoom h4n field recorder. The chains were 1/4 inch thick, attached to picnic tables, the footsteps are of skate shoes on concrete. 2014.

Rummaging through boxes with plastic bags, shoes and assorted styrofoam objects inside. I used 3 largish boxes and rummaged through them, making rustling, scraping and plastic noises, as well as through them around a bit to make it sound like someone searching through boxes. I recorded myself walking around the outer waiting area at my office. There are some very nice floorboard squeaks in here. Unfortunately, the environment isn't as quiet as i'd like; you can discern some traffic noise coming from outside the office building. Amount of sounds recorded on the field : a construction site of a power plant where i worked. Sounds of tools and electrical devices, some motors, ventilation, people talking, metallic sounds (pieces of metal structures, doors, pipes which i played drums with), sounds of shoes with rubber outsole. Sounds mostly from the inside and a bit outside. Sometime the quality is not the best as i hid my recorder.

This is how lost my shoes at the mexico city metro, it was almost like the scene in the harry potter's movies when they get into a looping parallel dimension until you get out in another dimension, yes i really felt i went into another dimension inside the metro and that's the exact sound from when it happened. This is a nice clean recording of hard-rubber soled shoes running and walking up and down metal stairs in a concrete stairwell. It's reverberant, but clean. I hope it's useful to somebody. Re-mixed and done by down-loading and enhancing the sounds. . . Starvolt is where i got it, so the name says it all. It's really more useful to drop in raw with the softer version, as i have turned the vol up.

A recording of the peaceful mid-autumn woods here in the midwest usa. I recorded this on november 15 2022 using a sony pcm d-100. In the northern hemisphere now, days now are much shorter, and much colder. Which means all of our energetic summer warblers and other migrants have long gone south, and are no doubt lounging around in a palm tree or something just gorging on insects. Here is the midwest woods? sure the summer birds are gone, but, the beauty of this season is that now you can hear the birds that never leave us. No matter how brutal the winter is, the blue jays, the black-capped chickadees, the many species of woodpeckers and the belted kingfishers never leave. This creates a different, but beautiful soundscape in the woods. For this particular recording, since i've found through years of roaming the woods, birds have a tendancy to be near water, i placed the recorder on a creekbank about 15 feet from a shallow creek. Now of course i could have gotten closer to the creek but by now the entire woods is a carpet of leaves -- this very slow-moving creek included. Which means the leaves had accumulated on thevery still creek water itself and i was concerned if i stepped on the leaves--thinking it was solid ground underneath, i would instead be "treated" to an ice cold pair of shoes and socks!. Among the highlights of this recording are:00:00:00 starting off with the loud blue jays1:56 black-capped chickadees with their active musical trills3:55 the very large and very loud pileated woodpeckers8:41--8:56 then again starting at 10:05 and running through10:40 the beautiful belted kingfisher with it's staccato-likerasp. It's a 15-minute long drum improvisation. It contails a lot of different beats and rhythms played so you might cut-out some loops for your needs. The kit has:- single kick- snare- hihat- 3 toms- broken crash that sounds really short- ride. The kit was old and not in perfect condition. I also used my sticks to play on some other part of the drumkit, like metal stand for the crash etc. I also got up and stated running around in a circle hitting sticks together and afterwards hitting drums and cymbals while running around the drumkit. I took my shoes off before i started so you can't hear my footsteps. I didn't use a metronome and i know i don't hold the tempo and it's a bit wiggly sometimes. I think this performace was inspired by band mr. Bungle. I recorded this with zoom h2 handy recorder's front stereo xy mics. It was standing on a table about one meter above the floor. Facing the drumkit and me. It was captured into a 48khz/24-bit wav file, then i trimmed the ends and converted this to flac using audacity. No processing applied, though i think it sounds nicer when you put these effects:. 1. A compressor:-attack: 10ms-release: 50ms-ratio: 2. 5:1-treshold: around -24db2. It is one of the largest shifting sand areas in western europe. The wind can blow undisturbed in many places, resulting in an ever-changing landscape. By purchasing it in 1921, it has been protected for 100 years and we can still enjoy this brabant sahara today. You can roam freely on the sand plain. So there is plenty of room to explore extensively. Marvel at the submerged trees, enjoy the chirping field crickets and quench your thirst at one of the many cafes or restaurants on the edge of this nature reserve. Walking, cycling or on horseback: it's all possible here. With the wind in your hair and the sand in your shoes. You may even come across the sheep herd. The sheep keep the heath short and eat away saplings. This is how they keep the area open. The loonse en drunense duinen still has 270 hectares of shifting sand. That sand creates rather extreme conditions: the soil is dry and nutrient-poor. The difference in temperature between day and night can be as much as 50 degrees celsius. This ensures a unique flora and fauna. The animals and plants have adapted or feel at home in drought, aridity and temperature fluctuations. Sand sedge and various lichens, for example.
