An early spring bird-recording trip turned into a surprise, steady rain. (*actually, it should not have been a surprise, i just was too lazy to check the weather before i went out exploring nature!). I set up my zoom h4n recorder partially under a picnic table and recorded this wonderful, peaceful light rain falling in a small field of very large white pines, which were growing on a penninsula of a small lake. I've decided to experiment with random frequencies slowly filling canvas and blending into a single timbre. For this piece they emerge with quite an amount of time and there is no distinct frequency to form a tone. This experimentation produces quite a hauinting sound consisting of small parts.
