Recorded in june 2016 on a new york city subway train approaching the last stop (34th street–hudson yards) on the 7 train line. Mta thank you announcement at the station and for all passengers to alight. Underground subway platform recording. A man is ranting and making guttural noises for the first half. Someone audibly tells him "go home", and the man lets out a final gawp. As he leaves, a street performer with saxophone mockingly plays some bach. Recorded with an edirol r-09.

This is my first noise i've ever uploaded, so any tips to improve this or any future sounds are welcome. The original sound came from a subway car screeching to a halt and it was edited with audacity and adobe premiere. Enjoy!.

Subways in nyc don't usually get quiet. Somehow i found myself on a quiet train from new york to new jersey, not one vocal, apart from the public service announcement. Lots of what you'd expect from a train ride: squealing, screeching, rocking, and i got lucky as many stops and starts. Taken at 44. 1, with the fire app on an iphone 4. Don't doubt those little guys.

Silent subway station located in alameda da universidade, lisbon. This was recorded on march 9th of 2020 after a lot of people were sent home because of covid-19. This metro station is very loud on the large majority of days, however on this particular day the silence was all you could hear while waiting for the train.

I chose to record the scene because i thought this was a typical parisian soundscape, something parisian subway users experiment every day, and a real insight on how this city actually sounds. I happened to be sitting in one of these new line 5 trains. I think theyre audio footprint is much smoother than the old trains. . . Recorded with a zoom h2n in x/y stereo mode.
