My dream talk recorder app picked up my smoke alarm which went off for some unknown reason at 4 am. There was no emergency but thought someone might want to use the sound.

Had a fire drill in uni today so thought i would have a shot at recording it incase any of you have a use for it. I recorded it using a tascam dr-40, 44. 1khz 24bit.

Noise removal'd in audacity and recorded with a cheap staples business depo brand mic. I was doing voice acting for a game i'm making http://www. Albinoblacksheep. Com/games/does-new) and thought someone might get a chuckle out of it if they come across it. Who knows? maybe part of this will show up in an all bran commercial.

Recorded in 2005 on an unusually chilly september day, while walking in downtown ottawa, friends and i came across a ceremonial event at the war cenotaph. I thought i'd record the sounds of traffic, people and background music and my timing was good as the choir launched into a sombre and touching rendition of danny boy to remember fallen soldiers of war.

This is the new traffic signal in town. We watched the stephen hawking show on pbs last night as they tried to filter out voices from space and i thought this would make a good alien voice trying to contact us. Recorded on my yamaha pocketrak with one track duplication and edited with sony vegas. Please comment on what you may use it for. Thanks. :^).

Kinda a vapor-y inspired bit of music for a project of mine. I don't know if i will use it or if you will find it useful, but i thought i might as well upload it. This is homemade willow charcoal used in fireworks making being shoveled and dropped on itself in a metal basket. I liked the "twinkling" sound and thought it would be a good first audio sample to upload here. Recorded on my zoom h2n x/y position in northern california. Standard wav.

I was just about to start recording a new radio show when the phone rang. I thought it was going to be a scammer but it was just a friend. Got back in here after eating lunch and found this still in the goldwave window, so i decided to upload it.

For "man of la mancha" i needed the sound of don quixote hitting the stage while off stage fighting windmills. I dropped a sandbag a few times, and added the sounds together. You can hear the slight reverb from our walls. I wanted the slight echo effect of the stage, so that the audience thought he really fell.

I found a program called "bitmaps & waves" today, and thought i'd take it for a spin, basically, what it does is convert any bitmap image into a waveform that you can hear. This sound is the sound of the door to my bathroom closing from the outside. To record this i used my sontronics stc-10 microphone, my audiobox interface and pro tools on my mac at 48khz, 24 bit. I recorded this sound to be used as foley for a door closing off screen in a student film. I uploaded as i thought it might come in useful to others.

A lot of fruit died to make this sound. Ever have a whale explode and need the sound of flesh falling from the sky? maybe you had an adventurer who was turned into mince meat above your heads. Giving a test of my new mono lapel mic i noticed some interference/static on the right channel - which is strange as it is mono. . . . But i thought it sounded interesting and i hope it's useful to you. Comment what you used it in below for some extra exposure for your project - but it isn't necessary. This is a crow picked up by dreamtalk recorder, a brilliant app for iphone/ipad/android. It was early hours in the morning and it was outside my window. I have had to amplify the file quite a lot to make it easier to hear. I thought it sounded fed up in its tone, i've not heard one exactly like this before.

The sound caught my attention and i thought others might find it useful. The sound comes from a small cardboard box with a glossy exterior being removed from a slightly bigger cardboard box causing the little pop at the end.

This sound was from a live video feed on a social media broadcast. At some point the audio just got caught into a feedback loop that lasted for a bit. I thought it sounded interesting and saved it. Has kind of a laser or phaser cannon kind of thing going on. Perhaps an alert sound of some sort. Probably many possibilities for usage.

I've used a lot of sounds from this site over the years so i thought it was about time i gave something back:). Field recording on h4n zoom recorder as a concrete was spayed against the wire frame of our in ground pool. This has been normalized, equalized and compressed in audacity. The local library has a printer whose noise i thought was quite unique. I forgot to record it the first time, so the second time i checked out books i made sure to record it. I needed a robotic female countdown for the game i am developing and found the file by "jenninexus". Using audacity i applied some effects to it and made it faster. Something went wrong with the audio! first i was going to record the sound of the wind. I placed the equipment, checked the audio and left. As i came back i realized that the audio file is full of interference!first i was quite angry about it, but then i thought that it is a pretty good sound effect!.

This monstrosity is what i got when i attempted to add a reduce vocals effect to an episode of an old low-budget nickelodeon show from the 90s. I don't know why, but trying to apply this effect to it only gave me this horrific garble. Kinda like a messed up tape recorder or something, idk. Recorded on july 10th, 2019, perhaps around 11:30pm in the mountainous woods of chiayi county, meishan township in taiwan. It began drizzling and i thought the sound at night is quite beautiful. Excuse those weird bumps i made during the recording.

I was playing with my mixed-breed dog, mia, the other day, and so recorded her doing things. Running around, barking, panting, etc. Sorry for the handleing noise and other unwanted noises you might find throughout the recording; i didn't even plan to record but then i thought why not, so i was unprepared. I was playing around trying to create a different sound when i accidentally created this sound which reminded me of a rocket flying by. I thought it might be useful and uploaded it. Sounds of a ceramic coffee cup being hit with a steel spoon, single hits and repetitive fast hits for imitating a bell of sorts. Caution: may get noisy and ear-piercing ;). I recorded this for my own sound design purposes (game sfx) and thought i would share it with anyone who may find it useful - if you do, please help yourself and enjoy!.

Breathing through a 1. 5 metre didgeridoo to obtain a dramatic sound. Pitch and re verb were used for more effect. Bit rate 288kbps. Ngwave pc software. Sennheiser shotgun microphone. I'm new to this and something happened with the upload. Track is running a fair bit slower than i thought it would but feel it's still unusual enough for an underscore. Any comments are welcome.

The source of the sound originates in an apartment. I recorded the creaking noise of the front door with a zoom h4n. I didn't change effect as i wanted it to be used naturally as background noise and give special atmosphere, like in alfred hitchcock movies. I remarked this was a very clear, resourceful sound when going out from home: i heard it and suddenly thought that would be a good sound for the freesounders's community.

To make this series of sounds, i blended a bunch of samples together, some recorded on my go-to usb mic, some synthesized in ableton. I thought they fit together nicely vs being isolated pieces. I recorded one usable minute of passing train, moving slowly through town. I thought the local engine served just one customer, a major metal scrap yard, but the half-dozen box cars on this engine don't fit that model. Considering the overall decrepit condition of american railways, this one isn't bad.

First spring time thunderstorms hit the metro detroit today. This is a short sample of my original 2 hour recording that i thought was particularly nice. You'll hear several little thunder rumbles and rain in an city night atmosphere. Feel free to use.

A flash thunderstorm in queensland came about randomly in the afternoon and i thought it would be cool to recorded it. I recorded it under an awning since i didn't want to get the recorder wet and the awning was acting a little like a wind tunnel so there's these high pitch wind noises too. Plus thunder in the background. Was recorded on a zoom h5. With the limiter turned on. Forgot to turn it off since it was spur of the moment.

Getting there can be accelerated if your rescuer arrives without thinking to bring along something, anything for you to wear home.

I really needed something that sounded like a group of horses galloping in the distance and couldn't find anything. So i busted out my zoom h6 and set it on my futon comforter and then just tapped my fingertips on the surface right next to the stereo mics. Then i put that track in premiere and made four layers, all offset to get different rhythm and i thought it turned out pretty good so wanted to share it.

My first excursion into the ambient realm. My friends mimeophon, o-ctrl, morphagene, x-pan, erbe-verbe and the omnipresent clouds took me to somewhere i never thought i'd venture. Basically a very simple sound source, sped up and slowed down in segments, granulated and pasted back together. Quite a wet mix. Shake the drops off afterwards. . .

A bubbling sound which makes an excellent loop for a background sound effect. Like a scientist's lab, or a wizard's cauldron bubbling away. I've also thought it would be a cool sort of futuristic bubble car kind of sound as well as it floats along. Anyway, use your imagination and apply it to whatever you want. I made the sound by flicking my lips with my finger, but it makes a great bubble sound.

This is a kind of dull, soft laser bolt or gun blast. Or perhaps just some sort of impact sound. I thought it was interesting, because what it really is made up of is the sound of me shuffling my cell phone around for a second. How it ended up sounding like this i don't know. But perhaps someone has an application for the use of this sound. Enjoy.
