I'm riding a bus (for disabled people) in to downtown honolulu amid the heavy traffic caused by last-minute christmas shoppers. I recorded this inside the bus with my lenovo laptop's built-in microphone.

Early morning backyard ambience in virginia usa. White noise including distant traffic and the din of air conditioning systems with bird song and a couple of crows calling to each other. Recorded on an olympus ls-7 pcm recorder.

Train-crossing bells with traffic background, fairly loud. Train bell itself mixes in as train approaches (0:20->0:32), followed by train noise: wheels, brake squeals and compressor hiss.

Sound of sitting inside a car when the driver side is opened, briefly revealing the sounds of traffic outside of the car, then being closed. Crunchiness near the end are bags of chips just bought from the gas station, can be trimmed off.

Crazy noise to drive you crazy.

Here is a recording of the football field at loyola high school in los angeles. It includes sounds from birds, street traffic, some sprinklers, other people walking around, and a jet going by overhead.

This is the new talking traffic signal in town. I got the idea to speed it up from listening to some radio commercials where the person talks a mile a minute to cram as many words into the commercial as possible. They really are damned annoying when they do it, but i get a laugh out of my version. Recorded on my yamaha pocketrak with one track duplication and edited in sony vegas. Please comment on what you will use it for. Thanks. :^).

A recording of crickets chirping at night around griffith park. Occasionally, some light traffic can be heard. Recorded in a mid/side configuration with a sennheiser 416 and a rode nt2000. Edited to remove as much traffic sound as possible. Eqed with a bass rolloff, a slight boost around 5-8 khz (to hear more crickets), and a cut somewhere around 100-500 hz (to hear less of the traffic).
