I recorded a message of my answering machine and cutted the two beeps close one behind the other and normalized them.

A t-jet t-shirt printer performing a head clean, makes some pretty crazy sounds. Could be good for a robot or something.

This is a sound recorded with a handcrafted electromagnetic microphone. The machine recorded is used for computation tasks at cbc (upf) for their experiments on brain cognition. A found loop. Used a randomized preset on some analog emulation synthesizer vst (i forget which) put through the il hardcore guitar amp plugin.

Std browning m2, short shelling. Microphone taped on metal housing, thus most of the sound is not air waves but waves through metal construction.

4ch-surround field recording of a tv editing suite with all machines running. Very useful as a neutral backdrop for any kind of motion picture or radio play requiring an "techy" feel to the atmosphere. Recorded with a zoom h2, these are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

Maquinas.

Several years back my older brother stumbled upon a bunch of old family reel to reel films and sat down one evening to project them on a wall and digitize them. This is the sound of that process. What you can hear, i imagine, is the noise of the projector in the left channel and the sound of the reels in the right channel. I've been obsessed with the sounds of the infinite variation in old analog hardware. As a sound designer, that infinite variation is often sought after but rarely, or accurately, reproduced through digital files in various libraries. Of if they are, they're often too short to cover whatever scene i am trying to fill. On the surface it's just noise but if you listen closer it's this wonderful cacophony of overlapping and repeating sounds that are always looping but never quite identical on each rotation. It was ripped from youtube using audio hijack at 48khz/16bit, but due to youtube re-encoding things as youtube does, it's nowhere near the source. It's still, in my opinion, a sound worth sharing. Space tourists watching rings of saturn. Thanks to satellites that have been close to saturn, we now have pictures that show clearly how beautiful the rings are. It is so beautiful that in a few years surely space tourists will go there. In this song i describe the atmosphere there is at that moment. They look at the combination of complexity and simplicity of the rings. Everyone will be very impressed with all the colors that are caused by the refraction of sunlight by the ice present. There are the impressive moons of saturn. The one with more mysteries than the other. At that time maybe life has been found on or in those moons.

From the machine noise collection this is the sound of a belt grinder and a "desgruesadora". Don't know the name in english. Love it!.

Inspired by gutek's 'helicopter. Mp3,' this is a recording of my coffee machine with only a low pass filter and flange applied. Sounds like a distant helicopter.

Recording taken from a train at about 20 feet away. It was very windy, so consequently, the majority of the track was very much ruined. There is a small click near half-way, caused by a brief release of steam. It might prove annoying if you are planning on looping it. There is also not an even right/left balance throughout, due to my movement to avoid the wind.
