5. 1 surround field recording of the center courtyard of the barbican estate, an ensemble of brutalist concrete block highrises in central london/uk. It is a weekday morning, some people are walking and talking on the premises. A group of schoolchildren passes some distance away at the beginning, some light construction work is going on in the midrange, and in the far range the busy city noises of london can be heard. The recorder is in the center of the courtyard facing into the complex. Recorded with a zoom h2n and matrixed to 5. 1 surround.

Modern noise - a quiet kitchen at night in an urban surrounding, and the constant sound of a big samsung fridge. Very distant tv sounds and voices. Recorded with a blue yeti on the floor (omnidirectional mode i think), cut to make it loop cleanly and boosted up a bit with goldwave. I kept it short (less than 2 minutes) to make it easier to manipulate in my video editor timelines. Hope someone finds it useful.

This is a series of sounds created using brown or brownian noise to generate 'silence' that can be put into the background of videos (or other media). The names are just descriptive to differentiate them and don’t include any added sounds. If the sound of one is close, then try others in the pack. In spring as the ice was thawing, i sat beside a rapidly flowing stream. The water rushed quickly over a tiny waterfall sounding cold and quick and light.

A deep metal creaking sound.

Small street, quiet (few vehicles, pedestrians, people talking). Someone throws glass in a recycling container at 0'23. Birds singing throughout. Recorded at 10 am from inside a car (stopped, windows open).

Car going past in distance.

Quiet water dripping from a kitchen sink tap, with a rate going from approximately 99bpm down to 94bpm by the end of the recording. Captured with my smartphone's voice notes app. There's also some human voices in the background, possibly from another room or a tv.

The soft sound of rain hitting the roof of an rv i was in. I set up my zoom h4n recorder and tried to sit as still as possible. Sounds quite nice. Edited to remove some movement noise.
