A recording of me walking through the snow which was fairly soft fluffy snow. There are also some places in the recording where i step on some brittle ice which crunches cracks louder.

This recording was made in my backyard. I live in virginia beach. I do a lot of nature filming in high noise areas; areas such as gardens near airports. I will, many times, use the sound from my backyard as opposed to the camera sound.

A peaceful "scene" of winter birds foraging in a large thicket of wild blackberry brambles. Among the birds that you hear, juncoes, and the beautiful little white-crowned sparrow -- the white-crown's song -- towards the end of this recording - is more melodic that his neighbors. Recorded on christmas day of 2015 in a beautiful abandoned farm field which provides great habitat and food for the midwest's winter visitors. A stark recording of a bunch of northwest winds whipping through a small town. This was recorded in december 17th 2013 during the height of the frenzy of the holiday season. I think that it why i enjoy this recording so much -- the lonely yet comforting desolate wind in contrast to the frenetic sensory overload that the holidays can sometimes be. The wind chimes are a nice touch too. Recorded on my front porch using my zoom h4n recorder and it's internal stereo microphones with the record volume on 80.

January 30, 2014. A major ice storm moves in to the east coast of the united states. Sitting in a small cabin in the woods of north carolina, the sound of ice particles (sleet) hitting a stove-pipe can be heard. It's cold. It's bleak. The power has just cut off. Laying in the darkness over the ice field under a cardboard box with the headphones and microphone. Enough far away from the shore to make me nervous when the rumble and cracks hit very near.

A recording of strong north winds gusting through a neighborhood. You'll hear leaves ratttling, the flapping of a big tarp, dogs in the background far away, and, one of my favorites, wind chimes. The jingling wind chimes really get going towards the end of the recording. Occassionally a loud car drives by. I sat my handy zoom h4n recorder on my front porch for this one and used the internal microphones with record volume at 80. .
