I recorded my small house dog being scared. She's always scared for whatever reason and decides to whine. It is a very interesting sound because it almost like she's growling. Let me just say, this is way more popular than i anticipated it being. A recording of a typical busy, yet peaceful later afternoon sound-scape of a small midwestern town at 5:30pm on a weekday. This was recorded on tuesday may 24th, 2016 using the marantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me66 microphones. . . True stereo recording. You will hear the delightful sound of neighborhood kids playing a friendly - or sometimes not so friendly - game of wiffleball which adds to the reflective nature of this recording. The trilling bird calling towards the end of the recording is the beautiful little, rusty-capped chipping sparrow. These chipping sparrows converge on the midwest around this time and their calls can be mistaken as an insect. Enjoy this summer 2016 recording and maybe it will trigger wonderful, innocent memories of your own childhood.

You will also hear the subtle singing of the birds that always greet you in late winter. . . Birds like house sparrows and starlings. From time to time, you'll hear the tinkly, nice sound of some wind-chimes hanging on the front porch of some house. The skittering of dried and old leaves scooting across the ground also makes an appearance. Enjoy this cold late-winter soundscape!. Recording made around 8 in the morning with the fantastic sony pcm d100, using the internal microphones.
