A close-up stereo recording (3 meters) of a freight train idling then passing by. You can hear the train slowly accelerating more and more, until it is going by at very fast speeds. After the train has gone by, the train can be head in the distance. (sound was recorded using a mzr-700 md recorder and a sony ecm-ms907 microphone).

I found this wonderful 4 foot high waterfall in a small canyon in the shawnee national forest in southern illinois. The cool splashing of the rivulet as it spilled out onto a catch-pool was enhanced by the echo as the sound bounced off the 3-sided grotto. Recorded on one of the hottest days of august 2011 using my rode ntg-2 shotgun mic into zoom h4n recorder.

7:25 p. M. School yard. Kids while playing basket ball and other games. Many voices of dozens of children and sounds of the balls and the game. Hear the vehicles passing on the street. At the final section of the recording is heard the sound of an airplane flying across the sky. I used the zoom handy recorder h2 with internal microphones. Recording of a male slowly breathing in through his nose which i made for a poetic video edit. 4 slower + 1 fast breaths in. 3 slower breaths out. Recorded with my rode ntg-2 on a tascam dr-40 at 96khz 24-bit. Cut in premiere pro and exported with same settings as recorded.

This is the second of two fx i've posted of the beast i used for beauty and the beast in our theatre. I was having a terrible time finding a good sound so i just pitch shifted my own voice down an octave. This is the second where the beast is panting just before his second entrance. This sounds as if it were staged by hollywood, but it actually did happen, i swear! birds chirp away to set the scene, but a beefy thunder roll intrudes. Soon after, raindrops begin to fall as if on cue. Theres a little handling noise click in the begining that is easy to crop out if you like. The recording is unedited. At 1:35 i move the mics closer to the deck so you can hear the splashing. At about at 3:10 i you’ll hear a different timbre as i move away from the rain and under an awning. About 3:45 the rain settles down and the birds start chirping again. Hopefully there are some useful segments in here. Recorded with a dead cat on a tascam dr-05 at 48khz 24 bit, then compressed with “lame --preset insane --scale 10” to make up for the low gain i used (i was afraid a thunderclap would engage the limiter). These tropical cicadas are active during the evening. These cicadas are able to produce calls above 2. 5 khz. This audio was recorded around 25-50m from the source.

A recreation of a lavalier microphone pop. Useful for reality or documentary where an interviewee may rip off their mic or you simply want to create the illusion of that drama. Also useful to incorporate into a "signal lost" effect, etc. Processed with some limiting so it's tamed and ready to throw in a mix. Recorded with an mxl lsm-3 dynamic mic, no reason to abuse my real lav mics.

This second sound is a recorded sound of two plastic bottles, i modified it using some effects :. 1-normalize2-phaser effect with-phases = 24-original/modified = 195-frequency = 1. 0 hz-start phase = 0-depth = 100-return = -80%3-change the speed with percentage = -43. 000. The final sound gives an impression that we are hearing the hands of a clock. .
