For my 100th sound on freesound, a long one: me building my bed with wooden strips. Noises of screws, metal squares, screwdriver, moving the wood and assembling it. And sometimes my breath. Recorded in stereo with h5n, in my room in the attic by a sunny autumn day. Little cut in edit. For the anecdote, it was so hot that i finished in my underwear.

This is the sound of people walking over a large metal bridge with cars going in both directions as well. Recorded in stereo with a sound devices mixpre3ii and a pair of audio technica at943 microphones.

We went to strasbourg to follow an invitation by an photographer to his vernissage! to bad that we got stucked into the traffic jam and arrived while the gallery was already closed! that was really a bummer because the drive took us four hours!lucky that i had my zoom h6 because strasbourg is by far an amazing city with so many street life. It is insane how many little streets with these tiny cafes and all the people around! it is like a magnet and you got sucked in. The french people know how to live life and i recorded in 3 parts of the city to give you a nice ambience feeling. This is part 1.

A mellow, melodious, steady tapping rhythm with street sounds and a jazzy ambiance. Interesting background sound that feels somewhat cinematic and surreal.

This is the sound of an slightly old and noisy ceiling fan being switched on, run for a bit, and then turned off. It has been recorded on my cheap android phone in an empty room in mumbai, india. There is some room tone hiss as well mixed in. You can loop the middle part to extend as the drone / rumble is quite steady. Feel free to use as and where you wish.

This emulates the ambient noise of a planet sized computer and its associated gargantuan processes. I aimed for a "what if" scenario. What if v'ger could speak to other similar artificial entities of enormous size and complexity. Originally recorded on zoom h2. The sound was originally a styrofoam take-out container which i pressed down on and released several times. I then filtered it.

In 's-hertogenbosch in holland we have carnival every year. This is a recording in the centre of the city. A recording of several 'dweilorkesten' that is a band that plays musing in the street. 'literal' translation is 'mop band or mopping band'. The go trough the streets like someone mopping the floor. This recording at the market-place is made with hundreds of people around. The ambience here is totally different from other places in the town and the world. It complete different than the south american carnival. Recorded: march 7th 2011, markt, 's-hertogenbosch, holland. 4ch field recording of an underpass below a german motorway, the a38 by leipzig. The recorder is located directly beneath an expansion joint on the edge of the underpass, the clonks and clanks of cars and trucks driving over the joint can clearly be heard, with the motorway noise reverberating in the underpass in the background. Recorded with a zoom h2 with a rycote windscreen, mounted on a boom pole. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

This is a high-quality stereo recording of the ambient noises inside of a quiet swiss train wagon while travelling at high speed (around 200km/h). You can hear:- how the wagon rolls on the tracks. - the squeaks and cracks of the wagon. - very faint voices from other passengers in the same wagon.

11/29/2018 - burbank, california. Rain, flooding, and mudslides come to california when a sudden storm hit today. Most people got off the freeways quickly and tried to protect their homes from water damage. This recording was recorded with a zoomh4npro (2018) set at 120 degree field-pattern mode. The zoom was placed on a tripod facing out a 3rd floor window into a dead-end alleyway below. This recording is great atmospheric sound. The water can be heard trickling off spanish tile rooftops and dripping from overflowing terracotta pots. From the passing cars on a distant highway, to the occasional cough of a homeless gentleman walking on the street below, this recording is genuine and clean. Imagine adding that sound of a metal garbage can and a shrieking cat in the night! a sound that's great for sleeping or portraying a dark alley in gotham!. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.
