I've been creating background sound effects for a haunted house i work at. I've used sounds from this site to create a lot of them but, since this is 100% original i thought i'd give back. . . Created using an sm58 microphone, protools 9, a bathroom sink, and my voice. . .

Letting water inta an old metal kitchen sink:. - first several times into an empty sink with the drain open - with very audible drops on the metal sink at start and end. - then once filling the sink and draining the filled sink with some gurgling of the drain at the end. Recorded with an stereo pair of km184 into a tascam hd-p2, 48khz, 24bit.

Rain falling softly into a puddle of rainwater by my back basement door. Some peals of thunder can also be heard softly in the background. Recorded fairly close.

Recorded under a bridge with fast driving cars above, rain is dripping. The cars hits a gap on the bridge parts, so there is a typical sound of cards entering a modern bridge made of concrete. Recode with a tascam im2 and iphone, i believe.

Braun model 3105 coffee maker. Multiple takes of picking up and replacing the glass carafe on the hotplate. The left channel is a sennheiser mkh-416 and the right channel is an akg c414 b-uls, both into a john hardy m-1 preamp into pro tools. Each mic has a slightly different recording position. The akg has more of a "room" perspective whereas the sennheiser gives a close up, detailed perspective.

I deleted parts with handling noise and normalized the sound. For a quick drag and drop in a video editing project and such. It's not perfect and i may have missed some handling noise hence "rough cleanup". But it's a bit better :)if this will be background noise in a video/music, you'll probably lower the volume and the handling noise will become much less apparent. About 24 minutes of rain captured in my back yard. A couple of spaces you can hear cars driving by.

Our expresso machine making a latte. You can hear it start up, fill the mug, as well as the milk whipping part of it softly run in the background. There’s probably some background noise to this because i was making breakfast. It can get pretty loud i was recording up close.

For a podcast project i needed some coffee related sounds so i recorded our techni-vorm moccamaster, filter coffee machine as it brewed a full pot. Our version has a metallic thermos jug rather than the standard glass jug. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution.
