In the forest real shooting with a shotgun caliber 20. The microphones are placed about 15 meter away because of the sound level they can handle. Equipment usedrecorder zoom f4microphones line audio two cm3 and one om1(for ambience)audacity + wavelab.

These are several cannon shots as recorded outside my window from an airshow at a nearby airport. The mic was a large diaphragm condenser modded by michael joly eng. Format is mono, 44. 1/24.

This was made using my normal usual process for gunshots from scratch. I also added in my airsoft p229 to give it a more live authentic feel.

So one of tac0's friends came by with a civilian style contact stun gun and tac0 does what he does best, blasts it a small room for 1/10 of a second. Mp3 48,000 hz at 256 kbps. Mathematically at 10 rps (600 rpm) you could use this as a sit in for a distant fired ak-47 rifle ideal for video games, war movies, mods, etc. Apply a resonant filter and some reverb for appropriate outdoor acoustics. And nobody will know your distant machine gun sound was a civilian stun gun except for us semi colon right parenthesis. Or you could also apply ringmod at ~9000 hz to simulate ear ringing for those ptsd scenes. Trimming + looping + pitch: if you can loop this properly in a daw you could even create a saw style bass for electronic dance music.

Could be used as an effect for a suppressed machine pistol like an mp5 or ump 45. Sound is a dry fire of an air rifle recorded with a samsung hmx-f90 and edited with windows movie maker to achieve a high rate of fire effect.

Recorded this using samsung galaxy s3. It is me hitting a rim with a basketball a few times. Use it for whatever you want.

Files labeled "ms" correspond to mid/side recordings. This allows for adjustment and separation of the stereo image. To makes the most of these samples, i suggest you do, or the stereoness could sound exaggerated. Most daws and audio editors have this capability, or you can use any of several free applications, such as voxengo's msed (set to "inline" mode). I love the crackle as the shot breaks the sound barrier. Could be slowed down to make it sound like a larger weapon, or maybe even used as an impulse response. Pouring liquid in a shot glass, picking it up, drinking & slamming it down (not too hard) on the table.

I went for a more realistic gun sound without the hollywood subbass and a lot cleaner than my previous work. Made in ableton live, i just layered an ak47, an m16, an enfield rifle and an acoustic kick drum together with eq and used parallel compression to gel them together. Transient designers were used on the layers to make them snap harder. A bolt slide forward sample and a bolt slide back sample were added to give some mechanical feels to the gunshot. Enjoy.
