Inspired by the monster hunter videogame franchise. Made these sounds in ableton live 9. I want to get into sound design for film and games so any feedback would be appreciated.

I breathed into my hands and put a reverb and phaser on it. Hope you like it.

A slinky spring toy stretched out and plucked once from the end, recorded with a zeppelin design labs cortado impedance-matched piezo contact microphone. The resulting recording is a classic spring-based sci-fi "laser sound" with a massive, lengthy, rumbling decay tail. This was recorded at 24 bit 96 khz. In addition to its use as a sound effect, this waveform works well inside a convolution reverb as an offbeat spring reverb impulse response, provided one has the processor power and ram to support a 2 minute 13 second convolution. The cortado's bass response is exceptionally large for a contact mic, so high pass filtering may be desired if used as an impulse response.

I transformed my voice into the the background sound of a fantasy-themed church. Recorded: iphone rode with videomic microphone.

Something i threw together for a personal project i was working on. I couldn't find any high quality samples of a dragon so i decided to make my own. This was created using ableton and contains the following sounds:a dog growlinga lion roara horse gruntingan elephant vocalisinga flamethrower sound. All sounds used were obtained from royalty free websites and manipulated using software so that the original samples are not identifiable. The combining, layering and processing of the sounds were all done by myself within my daw. I hope those of you who find this are able to make great use of it. A dragon roaring. I created this effect for a production of shrek. I recorded several takes of an actress roaring, and mixed some of them together, adding eq, distortion, and reverb to create the resulting effect. Recorded with an sm-57. Actress: nicole lewis.
