That was originally a boring industrial water heating system furnace. So i fooled around with audio effects to give that result that sounds like one of those old low budget science fiction movies or even some cartoons. It can be used in many type of stuff, it's up to your imagination.

Notes as an arpeggio derived from the chord cadd9b5 fed through a glass viper synth at 120 bpm using a panning notch filter on a soundfile that has been reversed cross faded into the original soundfile stretched to its maximum. A small test i did to see if i can emulate many games' futuristic computerized voice ui systems. 1st is a (terrible) pseudo british accent, second my regular voice modified, and third a heavily modified robotic sounding voice.

Sounds a bit like a robot computing something (obviously a smaller, perhaps friendly or unaligned robot), or a computer, or a grocery store checkout. I originally got this sound from scraping a nail-belt along a plastic chair, and edited the clip in audacity. Enjoy!.
