High quality mono recording of swiss catholic monastery bells at einsiedeln. Recorded direct to soundforge from microphones placed in the 2 towers, one radio mic and the other wired. Record format 16bit 44. 1khz. Recorded during the setup for weltheater 2007.

Bell tower of the basilica of the national shrine of the immaculate conception. Recorded on the catholic university of america campus with a zoom h2 in four channel surround mode. The front mikes faced the basilica. The rear mikes were fairly close to a building and captured an off axis recording of the original peals while the reflection off the building was on axis and is louder than the original peal. The two files can be combined for a surround image.

A strange door opens and closes, a ring sounds (the saint peter's office?), whispered voices, steps, echoed little noises. Registration made into an empty big church, with very few people praying and some maintenance operations. Equipment used: sony icd-sx800d, external microphone rode ntg-2.

This was recorded at six o'clock in the evening, the bell rings out its melody and then strikes 6 times to mark the time after a short pause.

I was in the church of angoulème (f) when to my delight organ practise begun. Quality is not extremely good but the ambience is nicely catched imho. Anyone who knows the organ work, i'd like to know!.
