Single-pitch heavy distortion with multi-layer. Mild modulation. Made for a emotionally intense moment in a horror film. Toward the middle you will hear a very quiet rhythmic element. Used a roland groovebox self-sample utility directly to wav, which results in good recordings, though reduced high frequencies.

5 quantussy cells controlling 2 oscillators, 1 wave folder, 1 filter and 1 drum module (bmc analog drum). Even the pitch of the drum is controlled by one of the quantussy cells. The drum sound to fed to the feedback in on doepfer a-199 spring reverb.

Test of how uoki-toki polivoks vcf handles sin-wave. I tune the module i use as sin-oscillator (intellijel μvcf) to ca 270hz. I connect it to uoki-toki polivoks vcf. I let a sin lfo sweep the filter, cv1 pot at ca 70%.

Here are some highlights from a collection of loops which i made using a home-built reaktor ensemble. They're all based on a little fm synth instrument, whose parameters are modulated by a bank of 16 sequencers. They sound like john chowning humping a cheap calculator. Hope you like them.

Done by sound forge fm synthesizer. Basically four added sine waves, each has some percentage of self-modulation(feedback). The sound effects chain applied over the initial sound is: reverb, chorus, upward compression(sound forge wave hammer), pitch shift(down) and finally vibrato, to simulate a varying speed tape machine.

The sound is not as clean as in the virtual one. To some extent i blame my method of recording. . . Different oscillators sound different. Here i use a self oscillating filter. That produces a clean sinus wave. The cleanest sinus in my rack. But i guess the real thing is not perfect and that is what you are hearing? in neither of the patches i use a quantizer. . . (that's art :-)and, i almost forgot, i use a cheap analog delay pedal. Noisy. . .

Some generative campfire sfx made with sunvox. The crackling sounds were made by taking some highpassed white noise, ring modulating it with some more white noise, and then using a noise gate to usilate the loudest 'crackles'. The rumbling was created using lowpassed white noise. Everything was sent into a reverb and a stereo expander.

The famous delete! voice line from doctor who's "cybermen. ". I used voicechanger. Io to voice this. It would be recommended if you credit me for this, mostly to prove that this sound is voiced by someone other than nicholas briggs (voice actor for doctor who's cybermen and daleks).

The semi random trigger is really two triggers connected to an or gate. Pitch is from analogue systems rs-40 (sample/hold and noise). I can listen to this for a looong time. Retro sound.

Heavily processed sounds form the symbiotic waves module by pittsburgh modular. Filtered through the intellijel atlantis filter. Effects were minifooger chorus and occasionally strymon delay or flint. The name give a hint which oscillator model and processor were used.

A testpicture which shows a greyscale in sstv using mode martin1. Sstv stands for "slow scan television". Sstv is a kind of modulation to send a frozen picture enclosed in a transmissionchannel normally used for speech. This allowes to send pictures directly, for instance, on shortwave.

Work in progress speech synthesis speech, all drawn in photosounder. I've drawn the basic vocalisation by drawing horizontal lines in the 100 hz range using the white spray with the harmonics modifier, and modulated that using the dark spray to create the formants. A metallic pad with lfo weaving in and out in amplitude/filter. Includes some lfo modulation, so some peaks are longer than troughs and vise versa. Used in an experimental scene to symbolize birth. Recorded with a roland groovebox self-sample utility straight to wav, which is pretty good sounding. Though i've found this method results in reduced high frequencies.

This is a file prepared for being used with makenoise's morphagene eurorack module. It is a pierre schaeffer interview cut with markers in files directly. It is a nice mise en abîme if you use it for musique concrète works as it is an interview about musique concrète.

Futuristic mechshop atmosphere created inside flstudio with filtered white noise generators, flstudio wasp, pitch envelopes, channel gain automation plus lashings of reverb for effect. Each one of the nonsensical announcements at the start are entirely synthetic. They're text to speech, done on-the-fly, with pre-fader pitch modulation embedded in automation track. No synths were harmed in the making of this cacophany.

For the technically minded, the voice is modulating a 110Hz en:sawtooth wave, which is the note A two octaves below en:A440. There is also some en:reverberation and phasing added. A simple sine wave beep running through soft saturation and modulation, then being exported deliberately at 8khz and 8bit to simulate the low quality of a phone call.
