One of a series of heavily processed sounds of me ripping various objects off a sticky surface. I ran the original recordings through s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, combining and mulching everything into new, dynamic sounds with lots of movement and texture.

One take dark ambience created with an eurorack setup. 3x disting wavetable oscillators morphing slowly. Valhalla reverb added in post.

Some creatures chirping at night, with city ambient noise in the background. I don't know if they are birds, or bats, or what. I stayed at my grandmother's place for a few days, where these creatures are heard every night, but no one ever saw them to be able to identify them. Recorded with a zoom h4n portable recorder, on the balcony in my grandmother's apartment.

I searched for a long time to find a jaws harp sample and eventually found one and successfully extracted a few notes from a very old appalachian folk song field recording, well out of copyright. I sampled a single note, which then fed ok into a midi keyboard, allowing me to effectively play jews harp melodies. The result was pretty ok.

Following the latest ‘dare the community’ i’ve finally hooked up my dirt cheap rtl software radio dongle to the formerly disused ‘masthead amplifier’ on our roof. Here are some english truckers(?) chatting over cb radio. They seem to be talking about one of their mates growing a beard and suggesting they ‘give him a quran’.

I think i've made this out of a hg fortune synth but i can't remember which one and like usual, done in fl studio with quite some eqing applied to it too. Excuse the popping though, it's an artifact caused by the synth.

The last performance at the circus ended hours ago, all the performers are fast asleep resting up for the following days schedule. . . Well except for one particular clown. I created this with my yamaha keyboard and a roland vs840 digital studio workstation back in the 90's.

I recorded my voice, layed it out on the track and increased the pitch quite drastically. I layered this with a chirp track so as to contrast the downward rhythm with an upward one. A deep sub kick i made using sylenth and a top kick from one of my personally made libraries. Light compression, equing, and some very slight limiting with plenty of headroom. Leave me some feedback and let me know what you think of it.

Incredibly clear quality of a dvd case opening and closing, i used audacity to remove some of my camera's noise and the result honestly blew me away. At around 3 seconds in i say "again", to clarify that i was opening and closing it one more time, edit where needed.

Took a ride on a historic steam engine in the lake district (england). This was recorded from inside the carriage while in transit. Some background talking but a lot of good mechanical clunking type sounds. This one was recorded pointing the mic at a rattly window.

Sound recorded on daybreak in early may at a parking lot between high rise buildings while slightly raining after shower and during streaming rain water. One hears various birds with an garbage truck in the distance gradually approaching. Olymbus ls5 recording.

A one minute walk through an old factory building in reading, pa converted into an arts center called goggleworks (the factory made safety goggles among other things). Sounds include footsteps on creaky floor, elevator ride, climbing metal staircase. Recorded with tascam dr40.

I don't know what kind this was, but several red-headed woodpeckers appear at my feeder. I got just one series without background traffic noise. If you want to repeat it for effect, each series came 46 seconds apart. Probably how long it took him to eat the bugs he turned up.

A one-take recording of someone trying to do a dutch approximation for a suspenseful audio drama, i tried to clean it up as best i could and final form will be cleaned up/lower volume/panned out to sides. The only microphone i had access to was a sansa zipclip mp3 player. Apparently this is german!.

This is merely the sound of a cd case opening and closing (if anyone is interested, it was the cd for the ending theme of the cross ange anime, sung by eri kitamura, though that doesn't change the sound. . . )this kind of snapping sound can also be used for little things opening and closing. I used this sound for a medicine cabinet sound at one point.

Recorded on a zoom h4n in stereo. The lions were fairly far away. I've amped it a bit make them louder and removed some bass rumble. We actually had lions walk through and roar (!) in our camp one night! unfortunately i didn't have my recorder running then. It was deafeningly loud! next time!.

Samsara ekd was used for the kick, sent through eq and a couple of distortion plugins. Black noh snare was used for the snare, with a resonator and reverb placed on top of it, as well as eq and compression. Hcx was used for the hihats, with one eq plugin placed on it. The master channel got brickwalled (or bricked) using compressivecm vst.

I recorded this ringtone from my then-typical motorola ultra classic cell phone in early 1997. This version has tiny fade-in/fade-out, about one second of leading silence and two seconds trailing silence for looping. I suggest amplifying it for use on a modern cell phone.

This is a field recording from my friend walker's yard in las cruces, nm that i made on a band tour in may 2006. There is a horse running by on the road at one point and some dogs in the background, but the morning doves stand out the most and sound really beautiful at points. A backpack opening, the fabric rustling. Could be used as an inventory sound in a game, or just as a cloth sound. This is one of my first sound recordings and is how i got into recording. One lonesome bird that lives in a tree on the neighbour's court. I recorded the tweets early in the morning from my balcony testing a røde videomc pro. There was some far away plane noise that i've filtered down quite heavily, so that now the bird sounds kind of 'isolated' and maybe somehow synthetic. Additionaly i passed an eq and a compressor (in audacity).

Here's one from a series of 'clang' sounds, great for impact moments in trailers & commercials, or to layer up with other sounds. They are somewhat high-pitch, so they might mix well with low frequency drums and impact sounds. Recorded with tascam dr-40 built-in-mics, by hitting a railing with a pipe in a stairwell and adding a little bit more reverb in daw.

Warning: this sound is just a little loud. A spooky noise i made for a map for garry's mod. You might be able to deduce that i'm making a horror map. If you want more freaky noises like these, (i may question your sanity) but i'll make one for ya. ;).

A collection of sounds from a bicycle drive train focusing on the rear wheel at the freewheel. The sounds include rolling bearings, moving chain, shifting, coasting, etc. The sample at -05:35 has been amplified. The rest of the recordings are unmolested except to resample to 48 khz. Most play out at -30db. One spike exists at 0db.

Recording of water running down the bathtub drain after the bathorganic rhythms are emerging out of one another as the water is whirling down and getting less in volume as the whirl changes in speed and volume and resonance with the metal tub and the drain tuberecorded with a stereo microphone on minidisc the microphone left dangling and turning over the water to create random panning.

I began my express bus ride at venice and vermont. I proceeded to record my soundwalk for exactly one minute as i rode to venice and normandie. I sat on the top row in the middle of the bus where the two parts of bus are connected like an accordion. I narrated what i heard throughout my journey.
