A single strum made on the open strings of a classical guitar.

Melodic snippets from recordings of me playing the swar sangam. This wonderful instrument is a combination of the swarmandal and the tampura. 15 harp strings and 4 drone/bass strings. In these recordings i am only using the swarmandal (harp) part. It is tuned to c sharp, but i have dropped the fourth note (f sharp) out of the scale. There are four packs with lots of recordings in them, strums, plucks, short improvisations. "short melodic statements" are 1-2 bars. "riffs" are 2-4 bars. "melodies" are about 30 seconds and "runs and flutters" speaks for itself. There is recording of tuning up the swarmandal in the melodies pack. The snippets were taken from recordings done on three different days so you may notice a slight difference in volume and background noise. A couple of the recordings have some ambient noise (bird tweets, wind chimes,)some of the melodies are based around a similar theme but have enough variation to be interesting/useful. Experiment weaving objects in to the banjo strings creating a echo-like effect. Recorded with cheap pc microphone.

Took a violin bow to a chinese guzheng and the results were pretty great. Good for ambience, drones and creepy stuff. Recorded with blue spark and blue bluebird condenser mics through a scarlett 6i6 interface. Uncut with a small glue compressor to minimize spikes.

A recording of the 6th, 5th and 1st strings on my acoustic guitar. This was later broken up into three separate samples. Very distorted.

I created this sample by recording my broken windscreen wipers and then edit it in cool edit pro using reverse effect, reverb and time slow down effect.

Echo, ambience, can be split and used for different parts. Nice sound.

This can be a plot device used to end a scene, mostly in dramas.

I used the `pluck`-function of audacity,to create this sound.

Hybrid virtual analog and analog mixed together through a behringer mixer into an mpc 1000. Light effect send to warm it up a bit. Doesn't sound like strings, thats just what i was going for, but this is where i ended up. Enjoy44. 1k, 16bit.
