In the forest real shooting with a shotgun caliber 20. The microphones are placed about 15 meter away because of the sound level they can handle. Equipment usedrecorder zoom f4microphones line audio two cm3 and one om1(for ambience)audacity + wavelab.

Here is the sound of a 50-caliber barrett rifle being fired. You'll first hear the sound of the bolt being pulled back. Really cool sound if you can listen on some nice big speakers. Recorded with my handy zoom h4n using a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone. I was standing about 20 feet from the rifle, and i still have the input gain turned way down to about 30, just to make sure the circuitry was not overloaded. Also, since this was in a big, wide-open field, you get a nice echo.

I created this sound for a cocking m16 by using different gun sounds found on freesound. Org. This was done for a play.

A rapid-fire machine gun sound. I made it through firing a nerf alphastrike stinger, speeding it up, pitch and all, and then repeating it. Recorded in my bedroom with a gaming headset mic.

This is looping sound of minigun motor that sounds in the background during firing. It is created using schweppes can, and edited in audacity. You can use this sound in any game where there is minigun. For example, mods for doom 3.

Another of the recordings i did on my phone at work of a steel cable at tension between phone poles. Hitting it with a wrench and making laser sounds. Cleaned up in audacity as the other one was. An ak-47 assault rifle having its magazine be taken out and put back in again. This sound was made by mixing various recordings of me reloading multiple different airsoft weapons i have. File i recorded while at work on a telephone pole. I found a span of the steel cable they string between the poles that hold phone lines or cable lines. But this was just the bare span and nothing touching it. If you hit them with a wrench they make weird laser gun sounds. Recorded with my phone and cleaned up a bit in audacity. Use as you please. High-quality recording of handling two handguns.

Pistol fired outdoors with ricochet. Single shot, fairly close, with fast fadeout. Narrow stereo image, no panning, almost monophonic. Wholly synthesized. No weapon was fired in the making of this sound. It's an emulated sound effect of a sidearm gunshot with a cliche ricochet sound, like in the vintage western movies and ww2 films that they showed on tv when i was a kid. Can be used in a game, perhaps, or a none-too-serious vidclip. The sound of the pistol cartridge explosion is default flstudio kick, clap and snare slowed right down. A single tap of delay is added to lend an impression of echo off a middle distance hard surface. The ricochet noise was made with sytrus running as a vsti inside flstudio. It took an entire day of head scratching, oscillator tweaking and envelope mangling to get something that reasonably resembles a sound that i recall from the old movies. I think i'll shoot myself before i try something like this again. :). Plus the usual flstudio compressors, eq, reverb and delay - nothing tricky, just standard stuff.
