Young girls are practicing music in a room. There is a drum-set and a piano there. Recorded with olympus vn-120, which is basically designed for taking voice memo. Drum beats are compressed by a little electronic circuit built in vn-120's tiny body. The mere thought of it just impresses me.

A friend and i have carefully re-created a sound very similar to his boom sound from scratch using thor synths and reverb in reason 7 and cubase with some tweaking in soundforge. This one's totally public domain, creative commons, non-attribution pro-commercial use! and it sounds just like herbert's. Remember,. This is not herbert boland's sound. These are samples from the new korg electribe emx2 music production station not the best recording quality but some nice sounds anyway the weird naming is due to the autoslice function in renoise wich i used to separate the samples from a one shot recording.

This is a zappy break i made many years ago on my akai xr10 drum machine. It's timing is 120 bpm.

Created in waveform-10 using 1 instance of zynaddsubfx with 3 layers of hi pass filtered oscillators which were tweaked in detail to sound more like noise. Theres a little reverb, delay and distortion in there. The other oscillator was white noise created in 4osc ( native waveform-10 plugin ).
