This is a recording i did of my street in a suburban neighborhood of a small brazilian city. In the middle of the recording, a car stops and two women talk for a little moment.

This sound effect was created for a virtual theatrical production of anon(ymous), by naomi iizuka. It is an ambient soundscape of a city at night. A helicopter circles overhead, a tv is heard faintly in the background, someone moves a dumpster in an alleyway, a truck backs up. Gentle traffic and background voices can be heard throughout.

There i was late a night. I was turning my computer off after editing my site. I was silenced by night. But there was a storm a brewin' i opened my bedroom window and put my ear to the icy wind. I knew then this wasn't the usual mellow wind. I ran down the stair with my zoom h4n equipped, went through the garage into the black of night. I sent my gain levels to 60 and with only a foam wind shield i put it between to to boards of wood to act as a wind shield thus allowing my to capture the wind slicing through the trees. With only adjusting the gain levels slightly in post nothing else been done, allow you to add you own effect on it.

Incidental sounds of a few men in a large room, unintelligible english and hebrew, lots of kaddishes and amens, a shofar blowing, chair sounds. Accidental recording; recorder left on after a class. 70 minutes.

The recorder (edirol r-09rh) was set in a very high building, therefore the sound consists mainly of ambient noise, eventually with subtle concrete sounds (birds, childs, dogs, sirens,. . . ). The audio is unfiltered, so it's dominated by low-frequency energy. Filter as you wish :). (the web preview seems to have some high frequency artifacts.
