This is a nice clean recording of hard-rubber soled shoes running and walking up and down metal stairs in a concrete stairwell. It's reverberant, but clean. I hope it's useful to somebody. While attribution isn't necessary, i'd love to hear what you've used it in. Also, for anybody who's interested, it was actually recorded in the parking garage of universal studios in hollywood, ca. A lot of texture! yeah! even analog modular synths can create texture. . . Well not much of a surprise but i'm getting somewhere. . . !. Have to note what i have done. 1. Modulating a full wave rectifier at audio rate. Fixed modulating frequency. 2. I mix my the output of my two osc and clockmy clock divider with that and take /2 to mixer. Reverb is space hole on my zoom ms-70cdr.

When my band was allowed to record after-hours in an industrial space in west oakland, i took the opportunity to show up early to record some of the machines in action. This is a recording of an industrial embroidery machine as it sews on logos to eight sweatshirts. I was messing around with some voice effects and somehow ended up with this growl. It sounds like a noise a dinosaur or dragon would make. Or like a clicker from "the last of us. "also, if you slow it down, it sounds like wood creaking. Let me know if it's useful for you, hope it makes for some good sound design with whatever you're doing. Modern noise - a quiet kitchen at night in an urban surrounding, and the constant sound of a big samsung fridge. Very distant tv sounds and voices. Recorded with a blue yeti on the floor (omnidirectional mode i think), cut to make it loop cleanly and boosted up a bit with goldwave. I kept it short (less than 2 minutes) to make it easier to manipulate in my video editor timelines. Hope someone finds it useful.

Sounds of a wine glass being hit with a steel spoon and wooden stick, single hits and repetitive fast hits for imitating a bell of sorts. Going into nice overtones in the second part. I was creating a kick drum sound using a model d synthesizer to see if i could and i realized the upper register had some very interesting percussive blips. I recorded starting with c or c# below middle c and upward for usable sounds and thought they might be interesting and useful for someone else as well. Please do what you want, slice and dice, these are original sounds by me from the model d and i give them freely for whatever use.

Birds tweeting in the garden with sound of freeway (highway) behind. Traffic noises include hum, cars, and trucks. Occasional use of exhaust braking. Birds are in the garden chirping and tweeting. Useful for a urban garden or other similar scenario. Two microphone setup, both are shure sm57s. Placed on two stands, one channel is nearer to freeway, the other is nearer to garden. Recorded with a behringer umc202hd at 192khz and downsampled to 48khz for upload. No other post-processing.

Entertaining - more useful.

I just stood outside for a little while, recorded the outside ambience, amplified it so it's audible, eqed it, and added some reverb to give it that stereo effect. In my ears they sound way better with a bit of compression, but i thought the unprocessed files would be more useful. Naming is super vague. Recorded back in may 2014. Pretty cool vocal i made for my dubstep track. Maybe someone else might find it useful as well. :)it's loopable, but i left a bit of space at the end for the reverb, so you might want to chop it first, if you're going to loop it. 140 bpm, e minor (probably). Recorded on my zoom h4n, there maybe some wind noise in places and maybe a very high flying jet, but mostly it is just the sound of nature. There is a nearby stream in the background too. A light thunderstorm in carrboro, nc. Not too much wind or heavy rain, but some very good thunder claps. As the thunder slowly fades away, some distant traffic and a siren can be heard. Recorded on a zoom h2. This was uploaded as vorbis instead of flac or wav because it's quite long but i thought people might find it useful to have the whole thing. Some intelligent de-clipping was also performed in audacity to remove some slight distortion from the loudest claps.

Some kind of tardis-esque machinery humming away, ready to project the adventurer into outer space. Would be useful as a sound effect for a video involving strange futuristic machinery. No effects have been put on it to aid this. This was created with my eurorack, the main component is a waldorf wavetable oscillator nw-1 module, put through an a-127 triple voltage controlled resonance filter and a a-188-2 tapped bdd delay. The filter and oscillator are modulated in sync by an a-145 lfo.

This is a basic dubstep beat. It was done in reason 7. It is useful in that it shows you a good way to construct a beat. It consists of four 4-bar measures, each progressing from the previous. In this way, you can see how to write a good beat, by starting off simple and building from there. Traditional dubstep drums are very spare and sporadic with the use of symbols. I never liked drum beats until i heard dubstep !.

Audio from the artist paintpots in yellowstone. The hiss in the background is the constant float of steam from the ground along with the regular release of pockets of air from these odd little spitting mud holes. Pretty cool to see and producing a very unique sound. Not sure if it'll be useful for anything, but it was too cool to pass up.
