Recorded at 24/96 from sound professionals ms-tfb-2 binaural microphone headset with 12vdc battery box connected to aux-in on sound devices mixpre-6. Postprocessed to normalized 16/44. 1 stereo pcm with cooledit 2000, flac-encoded. An electric light rail train approaches i-25 & broadway station while ringing its bell in rhythm. It stops. Doors open, an announcement plays, doors close, and the train departs.

High speed train arrives at kings cross station in london (but could be anywhere), passengers wait to get off, door beeps and we exit the train into the station concours. As we leave the train, an automatic announcement comes over the tanoy warning about social distancing due to coronavirus.

Erm, i rolled a hard boiled egg around in a large ceramic fruit bowl. . . For a project. I used a stereo pair of fel 'clippy' mics and recorded onto a sounddevices mixpre-6. Some light noise reduction and normalizing using izotope. I do not require any credit or attribution. This stereo recording was made on november 23, 2014 in brady, washington. The clip contains a union pacific freight train rolling at moderate speed through a rail crossing. As the train passes a crossing bell can be heard abruptly shutting off. This original recording was made using a zoom h-6 handy recorder with zoom stereo xy microphone. A heavy goods-train enters an empty station and breaks. Another train is pushed around a bit. You hear the creaking of the metal, the breaks squeeking and general metal-on-metal mayhem. Some background noise from cars and some birds tweeting in the background. Recorded using a sony pcm-d50.

The microphones are facing across the street to the el tracks which cross diagonally across the block at this point. The curvature of the tracks causes the squeaking of the wheels. Trains heading into the loop (north) tend to travel more slowly than those heading south. Cars accumulate at the intersection of harrison and wabash to the south (left). Time of recording was 5:41pm.
