A 10 minute recording using a nokia 5800 xpressmusic with a sony electret condenser mic attachment at aldershot railway station in hampshire, england. Includes the sounds of a class 458 juniper leaving the station and a class 450 arriving and leaving, with several announcements including one about future track maintenance.

Recorded in january 2011 waiting for the shinkansen (bullet train) to tokyo at koriyama station in fukushima, japan. Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, with a windshield. File has not been modified, just cut short from a longer recording. There are two shinkansen in the recording: one arrives and leaves at the adjacent platform, and one arrives on the immediate platform.

A recent visit to london and i recorded these sounds with my iphone4 for a project, they aren't the highest of quality (limited by the mic quality on the phone) but they give a good indication and could probably benefit from some eq to make it sound better.

This is a sound of mine that i made, it's a washing machine on a fast spin, it sounds rather like an old british style diesel train at speed. I used my canon power shot a460 camera video to film the washing machine in action and simply took the sound from the video. Subways in nyc don't usually get quiet. Somehow i found myself on a quiet train from new york to new jersey, not one vocal, apart from the public service announcement. Lots of what you'd expect from a train ride: squealing, screeching, rocking, and i got lucky as many stops and starts. Taken at 44. 1, with the fire app on an iphone 4. Don't doubt those little guys.

I tried to originally make the sound of a train speeding up in an 8-bit style, but it sounded more like the sound guardian scouts make in "the legend of zelda: breath of the wild" when they charge up their laser, so i renamed the sound. Recording of parakeets being loud in springfield park in easy london at 7:30am in november. This was an unintentional recording as i was testing out some new gear, this meant that i wasn't able to unclip the mics from my rucksack straps and avoid picking up the rustle of my clothes and some breathing. A train and canal boat engines can be heard in the background. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. I chose to record the scene because i thought this was a typical parisian soundscape, something parisian subway users experiment every day, and a real insight on how this city actually sounds. I happened to be sitting in one of these new line 5 trains. I think theyre audio footprint is much smoother than the old trains. . . Recorded with a zoom h2n in x/y stereo mode.
