Argentina, tierra del fuego - in a farm close to ushuaia, during the "patagonian rodeo". Once a year, the farmers go in line through the fields and the forest, screaming and whistling, in order to send the sheep to the corner of the field, and take them to the farm for the sheep's shave. They can't see each other but can recognize themselves with their specific screams and keep in line. A peaceful "scene" of winter birds foraging in a large thicket of wild blackberry brambles. Among the birds that you hear, juncoes, and the beautiful little white-crowned sparrow -- the white-crown's song -- towards the end of this recording - is more melodic that his neighbors. Recorded on christmas day of 2015 in a beautiful abandoned farm field which provides great habitat and food for the midwest's winter visitors. Recording made on a cloudy 40-degree day with a sony pcm-m10.

This one has a very vocal blackbird finishing off the evening (8pm). All recorded whilst staying in a converted barn in rhos, wales. Recorded on my zoom h4n, there maybe some wind noise in places and maybe a very high flying jet, but mostly it is just the sound of nature. There is a nearby stream in the background too. These are the original uncompressed untreated files. Hope it is useful to someone.

This is the sound of cows feeding out of a trough. Recorded in stereo with a sony pcm-d100.

A herd of goats walks through a village. We can also hear cows, dogs and pigs. The herd returns after a day of grazing. Recorded with shotgun deity s2, and 2 omnidirectional mics, 48/24 with a zoom f8n. Site: northern mexico.

A couple hundred sheep bleat in their shed in an autumn afternoon. They are mostly female sheep feeding their lambs. This was recorded indoors while slowly walking through the flock in a traditional farm in burgos' countryside (northern spain). Recorded with sony pcm-d50.

Snowy path with crunchy crust, you approach the hen house. They approach you eagerly, anticipating some sort of edible gift. There is no gift. The hens slowly realize the reality of their situation and return to their scavenging. You produce a deep clucking bellow -- one last attempt to reach them. But it's too late, the hens pay you no mind. It is time to go.

Chickens clucking, flapping their wings occasionally, with a rooster screaming cock-a-doodle-doo twice near the end. This was recorded in-person with a tascam dr-40 stereo recorder at a small, suburban farm. Public domain: i have released this audio file into the public domain.
