A freight train passes and a long distance express follows it. The express has been carrying travelers for more than 40 years, but people are switching to faster shinkansen, so the historical express disappears on march 13. This is a memorial recording. Mkh20 and mkh30, korg mr-1.

Set up about 15 feet from a railroad crossing and recorded a passing freight train. Nice whistle and approach, quieter later except for the rumble and scraping.

This is the digital belgian railroad crossing alarm sound. The belgian railroad company infrabel replaced all the mechanical bells at railroad crossings with a pulsating digital sound that they claim to be more efficient and safe then the previous analog bell sound. Infrabel made this recording available online as part of a media campaign about the replacement.

From the interior of a car, this is the sound of crossing the gregory st bridge in pensacola beach, florida. You can hear the series of "bumps" as the car crosses over each of the seams in the pavement.

Japanese traffic in the summer: passing cars and tracks and some motorcycles, cicadas, recorded with iphone, nearby crossroad of the six-lane road and a large park in tokyo. First 40 seconds is crossing the six-lane road. From 54 seconds cars in the six lanes start to come toward me and pass by. At the end of the audio, the signal turns to red again. Pedestrians cannot cross this road.

This stereo recording was made on november 23, 2014 in brady, washington. The clip contains a union pacific freight train rolling at moderate speed through a rail crossing. As the train passes a crossing bell can be heard abruptly shutting off. This original recording was made using a zoom h-6 handy recorder with zoom stereo xy microphone. Recorded with zoom h2 on 2nd august 2009 in gauja, latvia. Electric train is passing by full speed. Railroad crossing is closed and a warning signal is emitted. On the left a bunch of kids are playing and on the right a bird sings. Train passes by and vehicle starts moving.

It consists of several splices of equal length to be traversed through linearly or nonlinearly. Audio is counting from 1 through 8 with various text-to-speech voices. I was trying to use a web dx7 emulator to record some synth pads, but i had too many other tabs open and the connection was pretty bad. The result was this odd sound. Use however you want :).

This is a recording of a very old typewriter. I had a digital audio recorder that records 96/32 wav files onto an sd card. I took the recording inside an antique shop of a classic typewriter for sale, used some noise reduction on it, and added some dither. Here you go. Use it for any project you may have.

Released in 1989, the ensoniq vfx synthesizer was ensoniq's early take on wavetables, called transwaves in ensoniqs' perlance. The machine was a digital six oscillator hybrid rompler and additive with several of the waveforms being wavetables. Modulation settings allowed you to scan thru the waveforms for evolving sounds such as this pad. The vfx-sd was much the same synthesizer, but added a sequencer.
