Using a variety of 1980s radios connected via a headphone output to the computer, i tuned in - across the entire bandwidth - of the mw and lw channels. I also captured the static hiss of those bands, 'dead air'. There are small clips of various stations along the way but i was looking for that 'tuning in' sound that was so familiar when radio was the central part of every teenager's life.

Electro-magnetic interference from a desktop computer, and an at&t; cordless phone handset cl82301 when held near the internal ferrite antenna on the back right of a 13-year-old boombox listening to the am broadcast band. Recorded 2 years ago so i forget where i was listening. Recorded with goldwave from line-in. You hear emi from the computer at first, then i bring the phone on standby near the radio and you hear a series of nearly pure tones. The phone comes on and you hear a distorted dial tone. I move the phone away from the radio for a few seconds and you hear the computer again, then i bring the phone near and you hear a distorted busy signal. I disconnect and the phone continues sending to the base for a few seconds so you just hear a hum, then the idle tones are heard, then the computer noise as i remove the phone.

Its a very annoying high-pitched wobbly siren noise. It might give you a splitting headache if you listed to it to long. lol.

While trying to get my microphone to work, it was having this unusual feed back buzzing pulsing sounds. Along with a strange noise. (this wasn't my voice, and the file hasn't been edited. ). "who's there?" and the "hello's" are of course me, trying to get the microphone to work. I decided to record it after i felt it was strange. A baler machine being used at a recycling centre. The baler goes through a full cycle from start to finish and is generally used to compress cardboard into small cubes which can then be recycled. The sound is very interesting and unique. I recorded this sound on an iphone. I hope you find it useful and entertaining!.

This is not the actual sound of a bug being killed. That is a much shorter sound. This is the sound that comes when the bug zapper is first plugged in. It's the startup sound. I use it for my text notification. My wife says that it sounds like a fart.

Afternoon traffic ambiance hum on the street - field-recording taken from the yard/balcony in front of my door, in the distance you can hear the warning buzz from the tram and later its starting off from the tram stop nearby. Tram continues then to go from left to right channel, accompanied by some random people noise from the yard. Brno city center, czech republic, central europe. Recorded by huawei prime phone, which unfortunately makes some noise filtering itself. Recording date: 11. 04. 2019.

Dark growling drone sound i made on a my behringer model d analog synthesizer, recorded with effects in ableton live. Some processing was done later in adobe audition to finalize it.

This sound field recording was made back in 2000 on a very late/early morning. I placed the sony microphone ontop of the car outside to record the crickets and cicadas. There were a lot of mosquitos out that hot night. One of them landed on the mic and actually bit the microphone. You have to listen close but the bug bites at about 14:28 and removes the mosquito blood sucker at about 34:28. A broken fridge at a place i work sometimes. Starts off sounding normal enough but then slowly starts going crazy, i'm no refrigeration expert but i'm pretty sure there's something wrong here. Made me jump when it makes that first noise :p.

I asked my dental hygienist if i could recorder her cleaning my teeth. I was lying down in the dentist's chair, with a zoom h2 (xy-stereo, 96khz, 24bit) on my belly pointing upwards. I didn't manage to record the scraping tool (that hook), but i did record:1. The cleaning tool (vibrating, high to very high pitches)2. The polishing tool (spinning?, not so loud i think)3. That thing that constantly sucks away saliva.

This is a 36 inch/. 9 meter jacobs ladder made from a neon sign transformer, recorded from the side so the sound of the arc pans right to left. Easily editable to loop. 60hz feed here.

This is heavily inspired by the urban myth and/or creepypasta called the backrooms, which have a very distinct atmosphere to them. This is my interpretation. However, this isn't exclusively for backrooms-related stuff! so by all means, if you're simply in need of some interior ambience of any sort, that's also why i made this for you. No advanced processing was used to achieve this sound. I recorded an electrical box in my garage for the buzzing. For the 2nd layer, i turned on some fans in my room, and made a long mono recording of the white-noise. I then split the recording in half, and used each half for the left and right channel, giving it a stereo sound. I then spent an hour leveling all of it because i'm a perfectionist. Yay. Hardware & software used:-audacity-zoom h4n pro (buzzing)-rode nt1 (fan-noise).
