A lakeside recording taken around 11pm. Back against a dock, cool summer air on a cloudy night. A chorus of insects. Still waves. Some rustling. Taken in east lyme, connecticut on august 14, 2022. Unprocessed, aside from trimming down the front/back of the recording.

This is not layered or multi-tracked; actual 2:00 track of singing. Wide variety of birds. Stereo (large diaphragm condenser (scm900) l and dynamic (sm58) r. Cleaned, eq'd and leveled to approximately -24 lufs. Still quite a range of dynamics!.

Field recording of birds in my neighborhood and backyard on the east coast of the u. S. I believe a cardinal is most prominent here, but i am not an ornithologist so cannot say for certain. Some smaller birds (finches?) also audible. Recorded through an open window of a screened porch with a tascam dr-40x. Raw recording; a bat crack from a nearby athletic field is audible.

A wonderful track of delicious bacon frying. Recorded with the zoom h4-n using the internal stereo microphones. Oh, yes, the bacon went real well with the scrambled eggs that i cooked in the bacon grease -yum. Enjoy.

Northwest wind gusts through a forest of oak and beech and pine trees. Recorded on saturday july 21st, 2018 at 3:30pm in a midwestern forest. Although there are a lot of birds in the forests at this time of year, they were quiet today. A nice, peaceful, soothing snapshot of summer----recorded just 4 weeks after the solstice here in the northern hemishpere. Temp: 84 degrees fhumidity: 51%. This was recorded at the edge of a field, so it's literally a field recording. It's summer, there has been some rain but now it has stopped and the sun is out. A lark is singing its heart out. There is some wind noise which i've reduced with eq and noise removal using audacity, also some traffic noise from the road some way to my right (hard to get away from traffic noise). Recorded with a zoom h1 using the in-built microphones.

This recording was taken in the edinburgh cbd during the fringe festival in august 2022 in the early evening, around 7pm. I like it because it gives an idea of the unusual way that sounds travel in that city. I could never figure out the reason for it, but it was noticeable to me the whole time i was there. If anyone knows the reason please post it in the comments. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5 portable recorder.
