Tried to remove all noise. Wanted the voices. Failed. But i somehow like the result. . .

This is a recording of an escalator at the main bus station in helsinki, finland. I heard it making this sound one day. It was quite loud in the space and i heard if from far away. It sounded like a street performer playing an odd instrument. I imagined that a drummer would have had fun jamming along with this. I missed the opportunity to record it that week, but luckily the thing wasn't fixed the next week when i was again at the same place. This was recorded with iphone xr, so it's not super quality (i actually took a video really close to the escalator, hoping the video recording gives the best sound), but maybe somebody finds some use for this (the sound can likely be well isolated). This is as unprocessed as it can be, straight from the original video.

Experiments with ornament & crime "viznutcracker, sweet!" mode into braids generated several minutes of digital glitch sounds. These were then edited into a morphagene reel (and one-shot sample pack). The sounds are useful in isolation. Single splices can be looped and stretched into drones, triggered as percussion effects, etc. These sounds also work as a glitchy performance pool, and can be layered and juggled through a morphagene performance.

I wrote and designed this little "abstract-piano" piece exclusively for thefreesoundproject. Haven't seen too many abstract-type piano sounds out there, maybe i'm just weird like that, lol. . Merry christmas & a happy new year to all - 2007!.

This sound is a sinusoid. I have modified my sound with several phases and a crescendo.

The loop was created with one of reaktor 5's instruments which was modified to create 4-second loops that sounds something like techno or general electronica. The drums are all created using a subtractive synthesizer, most of them sine waves and were modified several times.

This emulates the sound of accelerating to warp speed or some other crazy fast velocity. Originally a clock and pendulum, modified of course. (during playback, there is a chirping sound, but upon download, it vanishes when played. ).

Made this moody dance-friendly tune in garageband for something called victors crypt. It's sort of happy, a bit up-tempo and dance-friendly but has this eerie anxious undertone. That's why i named it "dancing in dispair". Did a bassline along with a beat to start it off. Then i added some minor chords and synths with a lot of room to create a spookiness in it. I tried to vary it by making it change instrumental-wise during the tune. Think it would work great to a game, youtube-channel, episode, movie or whatever you feel like. Some static that was changed to make it sound like an alien.

Had a patch. Changed speed, attack and delay time. Got this. A bubbly noisy landscape. At the end i dissconect the "main lfo". The one thats makes things advance. But beyond that i get sounds.
