Patch on my doepfer a-100 modular synthesizer. Recorded in early 2015 using my google nexus 5 with a class-compliant audio-interface and the soundcloud app. I called it "babysteps" at the time. This is a nice lead made by cyclop with virtual amplifyers and some eq.

Recorded and processed at 24bit 48khz using a rode nt1-a condenser microphone. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else. Also de-noised.

This emulates the ambient noise of a planet sized computer and its associated gargantuan processes. I aimed for a "what if" scenario. What if v'ger could speak to other similar artificial entities of enormous size and complexity. Originally recorded on zoom h2. The sound was originally a styrofoam take-out container which i pressed down on and released several times. I then filtered it.
