I was trying to imitate the noise that usually happens when someone delivers a comedic punchline, you know, the high hat sound. I used a cheap desktop drumset.

Played with shaping low-frequency noise and speeding it up, made a nice, usable cymbal. Here it is without compression/increased speed.

Some lo-fi hihat i made in fl with izotope vinyl lol.

Closed hihat, with room, played with fast attack to make it more bpm independent. No further fx used.

I created this 64 bar loop in bitwig using a sample loop that comes free with the software, next i used a multiband fx plugin with automation controlling amounts and cutoff's which then in turn had various effects on the seperate bands and as you can clearly hear i used the glitch2 vst mostly on the mid frequencies, which in turn had automation controlling/changing it's presets.

This is a synthesized hi-hat groove. It is basically an on two layers sequenced noise-patch. One layer to create the "closed hat" effect and another one to create the "open hat" effect. This is a full acoustic drumkit sampled at multiple velocities with drum sticks and brushes, it was recorded in a small jazz bar at a local music school, i recorded this a long time ago with a zoom h1 portable recorder. It would still need some sorting and tweaking to build a soundfont or hydrogen drumkit which i want to do in the future but it will probably not be anytime soon.
