Timpano, 71 cm diameter, tuned approximately to g. Several hits, from very soft to very loud. Played with a yarn mallet, directly in the center of the drum head. Samples are a little 'cleaned up' (noise reduction, silence removed, etc. ) but otherwise unprocessed.

I put this together on a whim, having fun. It's mindless, i know. It so happened i'd just listened to an excellent rendition of the washington post march, a seemingly appropriate masterpiece by john philip sousa. Appropriate in 1889, that is. Https://youtu. This is one of the original tubular bells used by mike oldfield, possibly for the 1999 tour. Note: this bell is only a dummy bell. It was stuffed with foam and fitted with a transducer to trigger a sample. I took the foam out and gave it a thwack! great fun but it sounds absolutely terrible in my opinion.

When i came to the strange decision to try recording my poems as songs i looked for ambience around the house. Silver tube inset in wood with mallet to create different singing bowl like effect.

I took a metal pan and put some water in it. I used a med. Hard felt timpani mallet and used a tascam dr-40 recorder. Feel free to use and just message me if you use them for something. Thanks.

Vibratone (like a big cylindrical tuning fork) struck once, rings on e note, decays to silence. Sennheiser me-66 shotgun condenser into sony mz-r70 minidisc, transferred into adobe audition at 44. 1khz/16bit through edirol ua-20 usb audio interface. Noise reduction via adobe audition.
