A riding experience. A train leaves one station and reaches another. The original wav file sounds thick and heavy, i mean, sounds good, but the size becomes big as well. The outline of the sound is well described at mp3, too.

After a rain storm, if it's a hot day the mist will rise, particularly in my river valley. There are railroad tracks on the far side of the valley from where i live, about five miles distant. In damp air the sound really carries. This file is unmodified.

Was out for a walk next to a bridge while a train went by, the rattle of the empty cargo containers contrasted rhythmically with the ones that were full. Postprocessed to normalized 16/44. 1 stereo pcm with cooledit 2000, flac-encoded. An electric light rail train approaches i-25 & broadway station while ringing its bell in rhythm. It stops. Doors open, an announcement plays, doors close, and the train departs.

Synthesized train horn using moderately manipulated french horn ensemble library. The train sounds like it is coming toward the listener through pitch and volume effects. I removed the panning i originally made it with so you can manipulate that to your liking. This is offered with cc0, but if you can attribute, please do.

Subways in nyc don't usually get quiet. Somehow i found myself on a quiet train from new york to new jersey, not one vocal, apart from the public service announcement. Lots of what you'd expect from a train ride: squealing, screeching, rocking, and i got lucky as many stops and starts. Taken at 44. 1, with the fire app on an iphone 4. Don't doubt those little guys.
