A series of wind rivers rushing through the turning oaks and hickories in illinois. Plenty of beautiful, swelling winds. Plus, a lot of dried leaves skitting across an asphalt parking lot. . . Makes a person peaceful at the upcoming autumn and winter season, while, at the sametime, adds a bit of sadness to summer's memories, now gone. Recorded on wednesday october 23rd, 2019. Northwest wind gusts through a forest of oak and beech and pine trees. Recorded on saturday july 21st, 2018 at 3:30pm in a midwestern forest. Although there are a lot of birds in the forests at this time of year, they were quiet today. A nice, peaceful, soothing snapshot of summer----recorded just 4 weeks after the solstice here in the northern hemishpere. Temp: 84 degrees fhumidity: 51%. This a spare recording from a short film i was making. It's a stereos track but all sounds are recorded to the left channel. This was recorded on a zoom h4n and a sennheiser me67. This sound is me walking on several surfaces near a stream in cornwall, uk. I walk in a woodland first, then on a road, then by a stream.

Another recording of one of my favorite fall soundscapes featuring cottonwood leaves "shimmering", the lonely call of a blue jay and the soft sound of insects singing a little more quiet than they do in the warmer temps of summer. Recorded using my zoom h4-n recorder, and the famous sm57 microphone.

A recording done in late october of several years ago featuring the crisp sound of the leaves of a giant cottonwood tree being brushed by fall breezes. The sound of a lonely blue-jay really adds to this soundscape. Recorder used: handy zoom h4-n with internal microphones.

One of my favorite sounds is that of leaves skittering across a street on a crisp fall day. . . This, however, is elusive and tricky to record. However, here is a recording that i made this past friday october 19th, 2012 in a small town in southern illinois. It's not perfect, but i'm happy with it. Autumn is a time for slowing down and allowing yourself time for reflection and contemplation. The accomplishments and mistakes from the previous year. Especially if you make it a habit of getting out all year long and exploring nature, autumn can be a much-needed change in sensory soundscape. . . . After a busy spring listening to the many different warblers which come to visit and a busy summer immersed in the busy sounds of life----both human and natural----autumn's subtle, quiet muted soundscape can be almost like a re-birth for the ears and the soul. The insects, which had taken over center stage since august, are still singing---though now with a quieter volume and a more even sleep and though-inducing tempo. . . . . . . . Brisk winds from the north can be heard more clearly now----swishing, rustling the weedy, tan edges of fields. . . . . Hinting at the bite of much colder masses of canadian air waiting on deck for their turn in the months of november, december and january. . . I made this recording on the evening of october 4th 2014 at the edge of a field which was bordered by thick stands of oaks and pines of a major national forest. . . . . I couldn't help but pretend i was linus waiting in the pumpkin patch for the great pumpkin to arrive!. Recording made with my marantz pmd661 and a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone on a tripod about 3 feet above the ground. My input volume was 6. I hope you enjoy this soundscape as much as i do.

On my way home from studies in music i noticed quite nasty frequencies in every start from a station. You can hear the door beeing opened and closed to the noicy place between the cars. Recorded with the built in mic in a lap top.

A peaceful fall soundscape of the swelling of the wind as it blows through the leaves of the cottonwood tree, plus, the melancholy sound of some blue jays calling out -- to me blue jays are the iconic sound of fall. A recording of the creek mühlgraben in the bavarian forest on a trail from the village rettenbach to the peak schopf. Occasional birdsong can be heard, as well as the rustling or falling of leaves in the wind. The recording was taken at an idyllic spot where the small creek flows over pebbles and around rocks. The recording was made on 18th october 2022 at 11:52 am with my huawei p10 lite, no additional processing was applied.

Assortment of birdsong from the woods in september, i can't say which birds but i remember seeing the magpies and the rooks, there's probably some seabirds in there too given the area i recorded it inrecorded on zoom h2n.

This is the sound of a bamboo being shaken lightly, originally i had meant to make the sound of a light wind but the sounds turned out too harsh. So i ended up being able to salvage the sound of a bush being shaken or moved through. For all those forest troopers, here you go.
