A bit of sounddesign.

Sorry for the lack of uploads. (you probably don't care, but i'm just sayin'. ) i'll try to be more active on this site from now on. But anyways, here's a realistic gun shot sound i made. I made it by recording a huge firework explosion, speeding it up, adding a little bit of modified reverb, and some amplifying. I made this in audacity.

I love the crackle as the shot breaks the sound barrier. Could be slowed down to make it sound like a larger weapon, or maybe even used as an impulse response. Extracted from camera recorded content, tidied up with audacity mono and noisegate. . . I also listen for problems and cherry pick to avoid weird sounds. . No rubbish dry sample. If you want to use these sorts of sounds (good for games or video), remeber adding reverb back is the trick to making the sound big again.

Shotgun firing sound i made using multiple sfx sources.
