A dell dimension l600r being booted up and turned off. This will work nicely for those needing genuine sounds from an old computer. The mic was placed directly inside the computer's chassis with the side door closed. No noise-removal has been applied on this recording. Most of the sound in this recording comes from the maxtor hard drive, as well as the 3. 5 floppy drive, cpu fan, and psu fan. Also includes a post beep.

Close mic sound of a noisy computer power supply buzzing.

Recorded from line-in from a 13-year-old boombox tuned to the bottom of the am dial and placed near the computer. You can hear the cd-player starting up, working, stopping, working again. At one point i skip through a track with winamp creating a choppy sound. When the cd player stops you can hear the base computer noise.

Pc speaker sounds, recorded by mic'ing the tower. Quite noisy, but still very funky in a beat. I used bawami to get my own midi files to play through the pc speaker in order to produce these sounds.

The relentless sound of a data server whirring away in the corner of a busy solicitors office. Never switched off, this hypnotic and maddening sound is an omnipresent feature of the modern office environment.

An ambience recorded by my usb webcam that can record only at 8000hz sampling rate. The ambience consist of air conditioner and my desktop pc's fan.

This is a creepy sound i created by loading few megabytes of /dev/urandom to audacity as gsm 6. 10 raw data. I also added some wahwah and slowdown to make it sound even more weird.

Apple imac is a silent computer. I don't hear almost any noise from it, but i tried giving a microphone-sweep over the screen, which surprised me. You can hear various kinds of noise in a close audition. A dynamic mic.
