Church bells ringing at noon in parthenay, a village of france. We can hear some little birds singing at the begining: this add a "village" ambience. This sound was recorded with an iphone 6.

H1 zoom. Bells just keeping ringing for many minutes. Starts win one ring and then another one. Stopped recording after a few minutes.

Some bells - first played one by one, then some clusters (i think, if you are looking for the clusters, i have another soudn called more bells, and they are probably there). The bells were part of an art installation from yougoslavian artist stipo pranyko, who was having a retrospective at tea, in santa cruz de tenerife. This was recorded in the big halls of the museum, that's why there's so much reverb. Recorded with a zomm h4 n.

I wanted to create a sound that is scary. I was inspired by sounds for jumpscare sequences in horror movies. So here i generated an audio track and i added a « batterie risset » on it. It gaves a sound that sounds like a bell so i duplicated it 3 times more on 3 different audio tracks. Once done, i accelarated and turn up the volume on the second audio track a bit more compared to the first audio track. I repeated it on the 2 other tracks to give the impression that something is getting closer to us. After that, i generated a new audio track with a tone, i put it on overlap with the forth track and i highly turn up the volume to create a saturation in order to strongly surprise the listener. To finish, i checked that the final mixed track was not saturated, except the sequence i wanted to be saturated, and i exported the sound.

Old mechanical door bell, not in best condition. Rattles while the switch is closed (whether it's designed to do that i don't know) and clicks rather loudly on the low bell. Not much decay.

My door bell sound modified to sound as if it's coming from farther away as it would normally sound from a different room. Slightly biased towards the left channel, reverse the stereo channels for it to come from the right.

Binaural* recording of cathedral bells repeating over and over (not looped). Towards the end of the file the bells are heard from a distance (the recording continued while walking away). Recording notes:. 1. Recorded in the field using soundman okm ii binaural microphones with the h1 zoom recorder. Sunday 87/2/2015 mid afternoon. 2. The recording has been left unedited to allow the greatest amount of creative reworking. 3. Recordings are as long as possible for video usage (it's easier to shorten a sound than to expand it). 4. Volume in these series will be left unaltered to allow easier mixing as far as possible. You won't have distant birdsong louder than a closeup door slam. 5. Attribution is appreciated but not necessary. A "thanks" or smiley face in the comments below will be fine. Commercial use is okay.
