Storm over a london suburb at night, recorded on a zoom h1 placed on a window ledge recording through an open window. I'd love to hear from anyone using this sound, but it's here for anyone to use.

Recorded this on march 9th, '09 in my room with my mini-dvd camera's microphone. I don't know the quality because i didn't listen before uploading, but it should be sufficient.

Decided to try recording a rainstorm passing by in florida and ended up pretty good. Feel free to use this in anything you want. Comment a link to what you used it in but you don't have to :).

I opened my window and set the mic next to it during a thunderstorm. There's a thunder clap near the beginning that is loud and peaks the levels.

Rain with light thunders inbetween. At 0:17 a girl ran through the rain. After that you can only hear the rain, thunder & cars. It was recorded indoors so it is a bit muffled. Maybe good for a indoor scene?.

I left my zoom h4n on a table under a roof on the back yard paving to capture a massive thunderstorm. Lots of rain. Lots of thunder. It starts in the distance and then comes over the house - a big storm. Some door noises at the start and some bird noises and a car driving by and a bus in there as well. But generally mainly rain and thunder.

Recording of a thunderstorm rumbling overhead. The thunder echoes through the hills and is more or less continuous. A large clap of thunder does cause momentary clipping. After the heavy rain, bird calls can be heard.

I saw this huge storm brewing, so i put my laptop next to an open window, thinking that i might record a nice atmospheric recording of rain and light thunder, and i caught this thing, no more than 500m away. I had the sensitivity turned all the way up, and the microphone i am using isn't the best, but someone might get a use of it :).

Thunder sound synthesized from a randomly generated tone, and processed (in audacity) with: multivoice chorus, harmonic sythesizer, tons of gverb, 2-second delay, and fade-in/fade-out where appropriate. Again, this is my very first attempt, i'll keep trying to make more realistic samples like this. Until then, tell me if you liked this (rate it, comment).

Regular and continuous rumbling thunder. I stood at my back door and recorded the storm as it rolled by. No huge thunderclaps or lightning strikes, but a steady stream of flashes and rumbling that followed. If you need a prolonged active storm backdrop, this is it. Recorded on a tascam dr-40. A digitally created thunderstorm using a yamaha keyboard. The clip last for about 2 minutes. The rain isn't heard until the end and doesn't start until like a minute and thirty seconds in or so and lasts for only about 30 seconds. Recorded with a yamaha keyboard and audacity. My fourth recording.
