You are in a closed place and all the city around you is getting bombarded. And the sound represent the walls vibrating around you.

A saturday singing inside a small synagogue in israelthis sample was recorded inside a small synagogues in tel-aviv using my iphone 6. It was done on feb. 18th 2017. I cleaned it up a bit with using waves plugins in pro tools 12.

It is a byzantine music formulae. The excerpt belongs to the first mode (called echos a). This formulae has a name "eso thematismos", literally 'internal theming'.

You can hear people in the park next to york minster chatting, walking, laughing and there's distant city noises. Then, around halfway through the recording the bells start to ring out for midday. A bunch of gusts as a warm moist mass of air from the south steamrolls over southern illinois on, believe it or not, december 14th 2015. The temperature outside when i recorded this was 65 degrees! not quite the norm for this time of year. Recording made with the handy zoom h4n recorder using the internal microphones.

Medium summer rain.

This is the sound of cold winter wind finding its way through the gaps in our living room window. The recording has been edited to remove long stretches of silence, and has had some light noise reduction applied. The noise floor is still quite high though, so maybe best to put this one fairly low in the mix. Recorded using a zoom h2 with its rear mics activated.

It is a beautiful sound that is produced by a group of birds singing at dawn.

Recording in the cafeteria of pompeu fabra university (poblenou campus). A sound of a metal knife and fork is the main sound and in the background we can hear the typical sound of a cafeteria with a lot of people. It was in the lunch time and the sound have high frecuencies due to the metal contact and middle-low frecuencies due to people talking.

The sound of st mary le bow (london), a. K. A. The bow bells, ringing stedman cinques, as a practice. The zoom h4npro was placed above the bells, in the base of the spire, on a thin wooden trapdoor. Fairly lenghty recording (13 mins), but gives plenty of time to select from. Take a small section from the start for the traditional "rounds" where the bells sound in descending order (in terms of pitch), or select from the bulk of the recording to get some traditional english style change ringing. These bells are known as the bells white called dick whittington (mayor of london) back when he tried to flee, and also as the 'great bells of bow' in nursery rhyme 'oranges and lemons'. Use away! this seems to be (imo - that of a proper bellringer) the best recording of bells on here, so please do use it!!.
