A horrible sound for a contest, created by paulstretching the sound of an old photo-slide scanner six times, then slowly layering it on top of itself up by a semitone every second and adding reverb. Please comment on where you intend to use the sound, and feel free to post a link to the work where you used it if you want (i enjoy watching/listening to anything you create!). The sound was recorded using a "h1 zoom v2 recorder". Originally edited using audacity and paulstretch on 25th september 2016. Note: audio quality is always better when downloaded.

Another of the recordings i did on my phone at work of a steel cable at tension between phone poles. Hitting it with a wrench and making laser sounds. Cleaned up in audacity as the other one was. One is better than the other but can't remember which one i liked the best. Use as you please. If you use it for something and have the time to tell me where it ended up, that's cool. Either way, enjoy.

File i recorded while at work on a telephone pole. I found a span of the steel cable they string between the poles that hold phone lines or cable lines. But this was just the bare span and nothing touching it. If you hit them with a wrench they make weird laser gun sounds. Recorded with my phone and cleaned up a bit in audacity. Use as you please. This one is an attempt to replicate the ww2 enfield bolt action rifle the british used through world war 1 all the way to world war two and is even still used in some paramilitaries today. I used mostly recordings of the actual enfield rifle and just stacked them together, processed them with eq and multiband compression and several transient designers to bring out the snap and attached a reverb tail to it. Made this in ableton live.

A low-pitched ringing sound made via a high-pitched asian bell with a clear ringing tone, struck with a wooden dowel, the audio then subjected to a sequence of pitch-changes downward, each combined with a flanger-type effect at various settings for rate, depth and regeneration.

An assembled drumloop, made out of free oneshot samples and a free vst plugin. The snare has a nice added resonance to it that makes it bang hard and appear quite acoustic for what it is.
