This lovely little toy piano has been a member of my parent’s home since before i can remember. These days it falls under the jurisdiction of my 4-year old niece, who was ever so kind as to allow me to record it!. It has a fabulous tinkling and out-of-tune carnival sort of sound, and i wanted to capture that before the piano was destroyed altogether. I have editing the original recordings and built a kontakt instrument with them, available for free on my website at www. Framingnoise. Com. This is a large shed housing a hundred goats owned by a local cheese producer. It's an autochthonous goat breed called 'cabra palmera' (goat from la palma island). Listen to their bells. You can also hear them bleat, even munch some straw if you pay attention. . . Alongside with a chatty rooster. Recorded with a sennheiser cardioid dynamic mic onto a sony pcm-d50.

In 's-hertogenbosch in holland we have carnival every year. This is a recording in the centre of the city. A recording of several 'dweilorkesten' that is a band that plays musing in the street. 'literal' translation is 'mop band or mopping band'. The go trough the streets like someone mopping the floor. This recording at the market-place is made with hundreds of people around. The ambience here is totally different from other places in the town and the world. It complete different than the south american carnival. Recorded: march 7th 2011, markt, 's-hertogenbosch, holland. Rode svm > sony pcm d50 recorder. Re-uploaded as public domain.

Urban rooster from portland, or calls at 0:01, 1:20, 3:08, and 5:25 with an array of sounds in between: airplanes overhead, cars driving by, assorted bird chirps and caws, and even some wind boom-noise to play with. An accidental bump of the mic at 0:08 (sorry) should be the only major blemish in an otherwise funny first field-recording.
