A recording of my bathroom ventilation fan shutters clicking in the breeze. The fan is not on so you can hear birds in the distance, and the wind in the tube-shaped fan chamber. When the wind blows it catches the plastic shutters and they rattle and click. Recorded very close to the fan with two dynamic microphones, there is virtually no bathroom ambience detectable. I'd be intrerested to know what this could be used for!.

Sounds of the tidelands 1 and 2 and flying wildgooses were recorded in may 2014 too. The wadden sea is famous for its rich flora and fauna, especially birds. Hundreds of thousands of waders (shorebirds), ducks, and geese use the area as a migration stopover or wintering site, and it is also rich habitat for gulls and terns. I went out back to record the robin and also noticed a smaller pileated woodpecker right over on the wood pile. Listen hard and you'll hear it peck the wood. That's the first sound you hear along with the robin and my neighbors kids. Recorded on my yamaha pocketrak and edited on sony vegas with two track duplications. Here is a recording done during the fireworks of san juan at the beachof barcelona, spain. I was standing in front of the mapfre building, between the building and the sea to be exact. Fireworks were being launched behind me from the beach and their sound was reflected off of the building in front of me. The effect you hear are thereflections of the building. The building is shaped to visually reflect the city back onto the beach. Hence each floor has mirrors in a 45 angle downwards, all around the building (look it up on google for details). The sound must be coming from different points each located further away, creating a kind of discrete doppler effect, i suppose, although i am not yet 100% sure what exactly causes this. I am holding the microphone sideways, so you hear the explosions on your right ear and the reflection traveling to the left. In reality, you hear the explosion behind you and the reflection traveling up along the building. If you are ever in barcelona end of june during "san juan", you should check this out!. I don't know what kind this was, but several red-headed woodpeckers appear at my feeder. I got just one series without background traffic noise. If you want to repeat it for effect, each series came 46 seconds apart. Probably how long it took him to eat the bugs he turned up.

The haunting call of the pileated woodpecker, the largest woodpecker in the united states. It's quite an experience to hear this loud, rattling call break the stillness of the peaceful woods. You can also tell these beautiful birds around by looking for fairly large, rectangular holes in the trees. Recorded with my zoom h4n recorder and using the internal, built-in microphones. The location was the shawnee national forest.
